How Often Do You Refresh Ads?

Let's say you have a good offer and a good traffic source. Your ad/landing page is also good. And you are in the profit zone.

Based on your experience, can you run this 3 combination profitably for an indefinite period of time without changing anything as long as your offer doesn't get pulled and assuming your quality of your traffic remains the same? Or do you need to refresh your ads/landing pages (i.e. change image, headline, angle) every now and then so you can maintain the profitability of your campaign?

In my limited experience, usually the offer will break before the lander stops converting.

I've had an offer run for months without having to change the lander. However when the campaign stopped converting, switching the landers didn't help. So it's safe to say the offer died.

I can´t speak for traffic that I don´t run myself but on pops you can have landers that can run forever.
For example I have landers that I downloaded more than 3 years ago from Adplexity and I still use them without doing any changes.

I also just had campaigns that started on pops, then I used exactly the same lander and offer on push and ran it for about 8 months on push with exactly the same combination of 1 creative/1 lander/1 offer.

Eventually the offer went down completely (not just for me) so I had to stop the campaigns.

So yes, it can work.

But same as always, just because it works for one campaign doesn´t mean that it also works for the next campaign.
Sometimes it does, sometimes not.

I hear about tactic of refreshing ads every few days (upload even the same ones). Do you maybe also do it? Or in some cases the same ad could work without touching anything for longer period of time? I talk about push.

This ^^^

Might depend from the traffic source type and the potential audience size (adult or native banners for example might burn out faster), but most of the times the problem will be on the offer side rather than with your ads/landers.

I got some ads running for over year and they are still making money with good offers.

Having a good offer is crucial though

i wanna talk about running dating adult offers
when you are in the profit zone Yes you need to keep changing your banners every 5-6 days , but landers may last for so so long without any change
offers gets burned out too, so it's good to change the lp of the same offer (at least available for dating offers) when you start seeing drop in CR of the offer and if you run big volume you gotta change the offer completely so you don't get into sending same lead multiple times to same offer and get kicked out

Push is a weird balancing act until you find the lander that sticks with the traffic source and makes you money.

If you have to refresh your creatives on the traffic source, it's because the CTR / bid is too low for them to make money. But eventually, once the creative and/or bid makes them enough money, you'll keep getting traffic and they'll stop throttling you, and you don't need to refresh.

And hopefully, you're still making money.

If not, then start a new camp with the winning creatives at a different bid.

I'm still running some LPs that I've been using for years, just with small changes like swapping the image or changing something minor in the copy.

I'm also running a very small number of offers for years... on and off for sure, they are not always converting, but there are such offers out there (all in the dating vertical for me).

And I'm also periodically bringing some banners back to life... I've run them 3 years ago, then stopped, then again 2 years ago ... and I'm just putting some of them into rotation right now.

But this is not the norm. From the most part, I do create new creatives and test new offers all the time. It's just a small part of them that can work for that long.
