Follow along to $1k a day with FB Sweeps

Hello STM!

I’ve been a full-time affiliate for 5+ and so have my two business partners. The 3 of us started working together about a year and a half ago. Our partnership has brought in some decent income but also lots of the usual AM rollercoaster ride along the way. We’ve been running almost exclusively pop traffic up until the last couple months. Early in 2020 we decided to pivot and made the decision to focus our business on Facebook. Specifically, running SOI sweeps offers. Shout out to my business partner @mostache as he’s lurking around here and will be chiming in on this thread from time to time.

Here’s where we are at so far…

FB Accounts:
3 in total. 1 Farmed by a VA, and 2 rented. More accounts is not an issue for us currently and we will obtain more as required.

Server:
We have heard that you don’t want to use the same server for multiple FB accounts so we will create a new server on Vultr for each account and use Plesk to manage it. I just discovered Plesk recently and it's a nice free alternative to Cpanel. This will help keep server costs down to a minimum.

Tracking:
Kintura

Landing Page:
We grabbed something from the landing page depository and had a VA customize it to our liking. The landing page will be modified for each offer / geo.

Geo:
We are starting in PL. Our theory is that PL has a larger population, growing economy and less competition (hopefully).
We want clicks and conversions for as cheap as possible while we are just starting out

Networks:
We have access to several, including Clickdealer, Advidi, FRST Media, Adcombo + more

Thanks to @stickupkid & @vortex as we have basically modelled our game plan around their FB threads.

More to come soon….

Hi f40f40,

How was the performance? Is it going well? Did you encounter account ban so far?

Thanks.

Yes, how is it going so far?

We are in the process of compiling the first lot of data to post up. Should be up soon

So far no account bans, we have experienced account suspensions and creative rejections. Most appeals have been won.

Yo Mr Aus! Looking forward to your first batch of data...

No account bans is great news, you're running sweeps on FB?

Also if you're running CBO I suggest trying to optimise your pixel for website clicks in the beginning it seems to be a strong driver of early performance

#maynzie
Can you be more detailed?

We were preparing to launch a Morrisons supermarket giftcard offer in the UK, only to find our prelander had been flagged by Google Safe Browsing for "phishing".

I thought this was odd, as this was a brand new server and we had sent zero traffic to this server. It should have only been accessed by 3-4 people in total.

Upon further investigation we found that Netcraft had issued us with take down request. We have removed the prelander to comply with the request.

Does anyone have any insights on how / why this would have happened?

I have two possible theories, but I am really just guessing.

1. We were using the Morrisons logo on the prelander. Is Netcraft crawling servers worldwide looking for branded logo files?
2. We used Morrisons in the subdomain to host the prelander. i.e. morrisons.domain.com - did that flag something?

If anyone has any theories or insights they would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the tip re CBO

I forgot to include targeting in the campaign data. I just added it so it's in there now.

Anybody have feedback on our data? We welcome any and all perspectives!

Hi All! Bumping our follow along. Would love to get your feedback

I'm not running FB at the moment, too much maintenance for me. But.

You could target a little broader, not just Biedronka but other shops or shopping in general in PL.

I have run Biedronka in PL on Pops and Push and I can say I've never run into issues with domain being flagged that quickly. LIDL's 'legal team' in every geo is way more aggressive.

As long as you are setup on a clean .com domain and have no backbutton or push sub scripts, you should be OK.

I have found that PL works better with Giftboxes and Spinners, even for Biedronka. You may with to try those landers instead of the Quiz.

For Morrison's takedown thingy, you may have bought a domain that was already flagged for the previous owner. I'm not as clever as I think I am, and when buying up domains that I think will work... it turns out that some other genius AM had already burned through the same naming scheme. I did it so many times, that I now check a site I'm going to use on sucuri or virus total before buying.

You should choose a high price offer

Yeah I also believe logos are generally fine as well as use of name in domain, only thing that matters to FB and bans is if the AI detects its been used before (if you use google images its going to happen a lot! lol...) or they detect very similar pixel patterns.

Even today you can still quite easily get store fronts and stuff approved which usually come with a logo there haha

Regarding the domains, try piggy backing off some authority sites and use a subdomain usually good for trust score on FB approvals (Shopify/squarespace etc)

Hey @maynzie, a couple questions on this...

1) Do you change the pixel to fire on conversions after a certain period or do you leave it on website clicks for the lifetime of the campaign?
2) How many adsets do you typically test from the start when you use this strategy? We've tried CBA for website clicks and it seems FB latches on to certain adsets before giving all of them a fair chance.

Have been leaving it on website clicks, but thats because spends per account are quite low lol. If its WH campaigns spending a lot more over a duration I would always opt for lead or purchase pixel

4-5 adsets, 2 images per. Still learning the best CBO methods honestly, actually a test this week is to reintroduce ABO again as it seems its not going away just yet lol and I feel it offers more control in shorter duration spends
