Cyberpolice searches MGID office

Few days ago there was an article published on cpa.rip about searches by cyberpolice in an office from MGID.

Here is the original article -> Click Here

English translation -> Click Here

MGID official post on Facebook about it -> Click Here

Not enough details, but from what I'm reading seems like huge overreach. According to the articles, the 'cyberpolice' were raiding because MGID is connected to sites that have pirated content.

Unless MGID is actually directly running torrent and streaming sites, they can't really be responsible*

If a pirate site runs ads using MGID, that doesn't make MGID responsible for the content on the site the ads are running.

Granted, MGID does have some responsibility to do due diligence and make publishers sites they are running on aren't too shady. But. Publishers can spoof/cloak their sites too (you thought BH affiliates were the only ones cloaking?) So MGID would technically be none the wiser.

Anyway, seems like boogeymen and finger wagging right now. We'll see what happens when the lawyers step in.

*If they are directly running these sites, then... well... yeah, they fucked up

Commenting on this situation, this raid was completely unreasonable and was conducted with many legal breaches. Our lawyers are already taking care of the issue. Rest assured this situation hasn’t affected our work at all.

Thanks for the update, I also read online and in a Telegram group that it probably was much overacted.
