Problem with setup Voluum conversion tracking Pixel

Hi Guys,

I am trying to setup new campaign on Voluum.

The advertiser is using IMG Pixel. So I sent him my CONVERSION TRACKING PIXEL from my Voluum account
<img src="https://myvoluumurl.com/conversion.gif?cid=OPTIONAL" width="1" height="1"/> to add it in his thank you page

B.S. I changed my link to myvoluumurl.com just to type it here.

then I asked the advertiser to type his clickid here cid=his_clickid

he did it but It doesn't work at all. When I make test conversion. I open inspect to see how the code is loading, but i see that cid that he comes back with is 32 numbers and digits, but voluum is 24 and starts with small letter

and I see error 400 after making a conversion. beside the request.

I read Voluum guide many times to make sure I am doing it right. I double check again and again but no way. not working

Can anyone help me please?

He most probably misunderstood you and put his click id values and not Voluum's. Our are always strings of 24 characters.

There are 2 ways you can set it up to make it work:

1. You can rely on cookies. The conversion tracking pixel will fetch the click ID value from a cookie and send it to Voluum with information about a conversion (the click ID value will override "OPTIONAL" in the cid parameter). In this case, your advertiser shouldn't replace "OPTIONAL" with any value, in fact he shouldn't change anything in the pixel.

You can even delete "cid=OPTIONAL" from the url and it'll still work: <img src="https://myvoluumurl.com/conversion.gif?" width="1" height="1"/>

2. If your advertiser fires the pixel in the backend (which doesn't seem to be the case here but that's how ClickBank and a few others work) or you want to avoid situations where cookies are disabled in visitor's browser, you can pass Voluum's click id in the offer url to your advertiser, he then needs to store it on his side and pass this value in the conversion tracking pixel in cid parameter.

So it's similar to the way he does it now, he just needs to use what he gets in the offer url from Voluum and not his own click specific string. And you need to make sure you pass Voluum's click id in offer url (check your offer's setup in Voluum).

Hope it's clear but if you have any questions, let me know.
