First off, moderators, please move this thread to the proper place.
I've read and respect the Vendor Terms of Service, but I'm unclear about where I fit in your forum (If at all). Please forgive me.

Hello All,
I was told by a few people that the STM Forum was the best place to go for information and affiliates.
I'm new the affiliate marketing scene, and need some guidance.
Where I'm At
I started a company with my brother in law and it's gaining traction.
I started an affiliate program for Royal Mallard through ShareASale.
I've run some traffic myself (FB & Google Ads) and got 40-50 conversions.
I hate running traffic. I'm very inexperienced and too busy working on everything else in the company.
I'd rather make less money per conversion and pay good affiliates what they're worth.
What I'm Looking For
1. Brutally honest advice on how to make our affiliate program irresistible to good affiliates like yourselves.
2. Reliable affiliates to give me the opportunity to build longterm relationships with.
3. [Bonus] A mentor. Not someone to hold my hand, or a babysitter. That's not how I operate. I know the importance of time. I just need someone to point me in the right direction every so often.
I Have Questions
1. What do affiliates like more...% of sales, or $ per lead, or both in the same program? (I think the terms are CPA and CPL) If it's CPL, is there a good example of a program that's good, that I can reverse engineer?
2. Is ShareASale a good or a bad place to be on to run a program and attract good affiliates? It seemed big, established, and safe, or is it amateur/basic? From my few months experience, it seems bad because I started it in September and I can only seem to attract people who are running shady coupon sites, and basically skim sales off the top.
3. Is there anything else to watch out for? The "coupon site" thing threw me for a curveball, and I want to avoid any situation like that in the future, if possible.
4. Do affiliates like 2 Tier programs? I've read they do, but it seems like they shouldn't because then the offer would get over saturated. Am I scaring the good people away?
5. Do good affiliates shy away from double opt-in email address lead gen programs? From my point of view (The merchant), it seems like the only safe way to protect my email list against non-serious leads.
Seriously
I just want to get things efficiently moving in the right direction, with good people, and have fun doing it.
If you want to sell our products, then join our affiliate program, and let's get going!
If you have advice...feel free to dump your knowledge on me.
Thanks for your time and Cheers,
Mark

Bump?
Seriously...nothing...?
I didn't even get dogged out/made fun of/told to jump into oncoming traffic...
This IS the internet, isn't it?!
Cheers,
Mark
Hi Mark,
To me, the product (paintings of animals holding a glass of alcohol) looks like a really niche market. One has to like this type of art. So I can understand why there is limited interest. It is difficult to scale, so not that interesting for affiliates, compared to broader niches. Maybe with some videos showcasing the product in a funny way, for Youtube / Facebook retargeting, or someone that owns email lists fitting your demographic.
Maybe tell us more on the campaign you have run.
I would also changed the topic of the thread... I was expecting a beer/vodka company looking to promote products.
