How to Reduce Animated Banner Image Size for Exoclick?
I want to test animated banners on Exoclick but they only allow image size of up to 150kb. How to reduce the animated banner image size without losing quality on the animated banner? This is for 300x250 banners. Thank you.

Hi,
Sometimes it is impossible to reduce the banner size w/o loss. In my opinion, service like https://kraken.io/web-interface is pretty satisfactory if you can live with some loss. Another way is to lower the frame rate by dropping 1 frame in every 2 frames and prolong the timespan of every remaining frames.
Best regards,

You cant do it.....This effectively means end of animated banners on exo.
The blinks are not allowed, so you are dealing with pic frame animation;
which cant compress in properly in gif.

The best option is only 1 thing:
convert your .GIF images to .MP4
there is multiple options available for this, it will keep quality good and reduce size
and here is a tool i use :
https://ezgif.com/gif-to-mp4
good luck

So we cannot use animated banners with Exoclick anymore? But does Exoclick allow the use of animated banners if it falls within the 150kb size?

With this low limit, it's gonna be hard for sure. Just try to optimize the individual frames as much as possible, keep in mind that not all graphics editors produce the same results. On top of that, I've had great results with literally HORRIBLE banners, so don't be afraid to at least test the ones with poor quality, you never know

They still do allow animated banners, but they have to be less than 150kb in size. They also started to convert both animated gifs and PNGs automatically. This is from their FAQ:
- Animated GIF banners are heavy files, therefore ExoClick will automatically convert GIFs into lower weighted MP4 files, this will also improve the quality of the creative shown.
- PNG files are a heavier format compared to JPEG files, therefore ExoClick will automatically convert PNGs to JPEGs in our system before they are served on your website.

Thanks Matuloo for the tip. Also I was able to reduce the size using Kraken.io as suggested by Devaff79 without much quality loss. So thank you guys!

If I'm not wrong, they used to offer this option to high level clients but I'm not sure if it's still possible at all. Too much trouble for them to monitor.
