My Journey Starts. Here are my stats with $1 Guide and some additional reading

Hey guys,

Took a chance with the $1 guide and since I had some prior experience and I am in IT, I didn't think this was going to be so hard. I also read some of the 40-day guide so I have an idea on how this works. I followed the guide to the letter and my first campaign was in the negatives, as expected. However, while filtering out outperforming GEO's I think I found the right ones to be in ROI. I still have a LOT of questions and the AF jargon is killing me because I have to google what most abbreviations mean, but I am getting there.

These numbers are a bit impressive based on what I've seen here from other members...I was impressed myself when I saw it and I don't think I am doing anything different other than just filtering out the bad GEOs as advised in last part of the guide.

Let me know what you think.

I have some questions regards to this:

1. Is MOBIPIUM a solid company to start off? I understand we can scale with multiple advertisers, but I am wondering if people are making decent amounts here by just using smartlinks.

2. Is PN offers only profitable in this company or can I try other type of traffic sources using popads as the paid traffic provider? (I will submit my self to propellerads soon) to have both sources just to see the difference.

3. I understand that with a lander and tracker I can probably make my campaigns more profitable, but at this point my budget is limited. Amy - Is there a way to make at least $50/day or more with this company and popads using this method for now? or is this just going to be a $5-$10 per day thing? I guess this will depend on the amount of budget I have to spend on paid traffic sources?

Thank you all and hopefully I can learn from what you can answer. Cheers.

Hi rrivero05, nice to meet you!

Regarding your questions, you can try MOBIPIUM's smartlink with any pop source that has streaming website's traffic. I personally recommend Zeropark and Propeller. And your profit will depend on your investment and your optimization.

If you have any doubts you can contact your AM in MOBIPIUM!

Cheers,

I'm very glad you were able to reach green! That must be very motivating for a new affiliate - congratulations!

1)Although STM does not recommend/endorse affiliate networks, I personally have not heard anything negative about Mobipium. If I had, I wouldn't be using them in a guide.

Having said that: There are always risks when working with a network. I'm not talking about Mobipium specifically, but all affiliate networks in general.

My suggestions on this topic are always:

-When a network misses a payment, cease traffic until the payment is received.

-Once you reach consistent profits, negotiate a shorter payment cycle. (e.g. Many networks will pay weekly instead of monthly once you're doing $1k/week in revenue. Each network has different rules.)

2)Yes you can use other sources. However, not all sources will allow you to post conversions back, such that they show up in the traffic source stats.

Propeller though DOES allow it - you can find details here:

https://help.propellerads.com/en/art...rsion-tracking

Note: The part where it says:

1. To be able to put the parameter value and pass it back you need to add the parameter placeholder ${SUBID} to the Landing page's URL.
They're actually referring to the affiliate link, which you would be putting into your propellerads campaign as the destination URL.

The rest should be self-explanatory. It's not unlike the process for PopAds.

Let me know if you can't get it to work, describing what you did in detail, and I'll provide more guidance as needed.

3)I haven't personally tried to scale using this method, so can't tell you whether it would be possible to make $50+/day with this.

With popads though it may be difficult - due to the lack of traffic volume, plus the saturation (many hundreds of people have bought the $1 guide and ALL running the same push smartlink on popads).

If you test other traffic sources and find ones that both allow conversion postback AND have quality traffic, making $50+/day may be possible.

One warning though: You mentioned the use of a tracker. Yes, using a tracker will allow you to run on networks that DON'T have conversion postback (because when you have a tracker, conversions would be posted to the tracker, and you'd see geo/zone/placement/etc. stats in your tracker so would know which ones to blacklist). However, do your math to make sure that tracker costs won't eclipse your profits.

Using a tracker such as Voluum (which is normally a great tracker) for this method would not be wise, as it charges per event. We're buying massive amounts of cheap traffic to make small profits here. So tracker costs would seriously cut into profits at best, and at worst even exceed your profits.

If you use a self-hosted tracker it can be cheaper, but you'd still need to pay for the license and a server to run it. I haven't tried this myself so have no idea whether it would be doable in terms of cost.

Sorry if I'm not able to answer all your questions! But please feel free to do additional experimentation if you wish, and let me know if you need further assistance.

Ultimately though, I feel that going through the 40-day tutorial to learn tracking and landing pages would be the better way to go, if you're looking for a more complete foundation.

Thanks Amy. I will try other types of traffic sources and check if by getting a domain + landing page things could get better.
