Good afternoon!
I am writing on behalf of our media buying team. Your expert advice will be very worthy for me. We work a lot with Nutra, as well as with a gray hat. Recently, we visited the AWE conference in Bangkok, and we were inspired by the reports and launched a project - an online store for Asia, similar to Amazon. We tested India, Indonesia, and a couple of other countries.
We`ve already made
- full localized site
- online payments in local currency
- sophisticated user-friendly design of the store, everything works fast without any lag
But the problem is that the CR is very low. The main source of traffic is Facebook, and advertising here doesn`t work as everywhere. Although we have already tried a lot of hypotheses…
If someone has experience working with e-commerce in Asia (India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, etc.), tell me what might be the reason? Perhaps we should test some other traffic sources? Should we run our own app? Pls, let me know which aspects we should pay attention to, with the launching on the Asian market?
I understand that it will be difficult to say anything without specifications, but I still hope you can help. I will be very happy to hear from you, if you have any tips and observations on working with TIER 3. Thank you in advance!
You say that you have already setup "online payments in local currency". Have you tried adding a Cash on Delivery option?
Tier 3 countries seem to be a bit hectic about online payments, so if the drop rate from cart to check out is high, then missing a CoD option could be one of the reasons.
Cash on Delivery, and every locality has their own sort of processor people prefer, add COD and these local processors and you'll do much better. Learn from a site like shopee which is different whether singapore taiwan or elsewhere. it's same brand but the local site on that TLD has a bit different processing and style so the locals there use it in their way with their pay app or style they prefer. Unfortunately payments are fragmented in countries and not like just credit cards in the west.
