Hey Everyone,
I want to run a campaign with Commission Junction for the first time but am not sure how to track. I emailed them asking about pixels and subids and got this response:
"Hello,
The CJ system will only track the link activity, it will not track and cannot track consumer information.
CJ tracking system works by dropping cookies. Once a link is clicked on, a cookie is dropped and remains in the browser for the duration of the referral period time set-up by the advertiser. When a sale occurs a confirmation cookie is dropped.
Other systems may record every single click as a unique click whereas the CJ system will not do that.
Any other tracking, you will have to do on your end."
So basically, they can't place a pixel and there aren't any subids. So if I wanted to make a FB campaign and track gender / age / keyword / etc.... How would I go about this?
I use CPVlab mainly but also have prosper installed.
Thanks
its been a while but...
pretty sure you can do a subid....
I think if I remember correctly you can add one when your first grab your link.....
then just sub what you want in dynamically
you will have to upload id's as they don't fire pixels
Add &sid= to the end of your CJ URL and you can get the subid's from your reports
You probably already know this, but when I was using CJ, I had to add "special terms" or something to my account profile, indicating that I was using P202 and explaining it, because many advertisers don't allow any sort of redirects, or view non-CJ tracking links suspiciously (too many lame organic pubs there that don't track shit). So when I "learned" this, i had to modify my account and was rejected by several of the advertisers that I had been running previously. In case you haven't done this already, if you start doing volume for someone, I'm pretty sure you'll get audited by CJ, because this P202 is often against their program terms...
