Hi,
We work with a adult company for many years and lately they decided to lower the payments of all partners including mine per 1st of january.
The day they told the partners was 22nd of january, so they decreased the payments backwords, instead of informing the partners a period ahead that there
will come some changes in the payments the next months. Afcourse all partners are pissed off and mostly about announcing this end of the month that this will start this month.
Anyone here ever experienced the same with a affiliate company doing this ?
What is your opinion about a affiliate company doing this ?
Regards
Marcel
I don't think they have a stronge case here. If you knew upfront, you might have switched the offer to one of the competitors. Also let's say you run 10%ROI, and this lower payout makes you go in red numbers. Would they pay for those costs?
Perhaps they included it in their terms & conditions, or they have a very valid reason, but honestly I can't really think of one.
They have a good reason, most partners are not pissed off about the drop in payment, but there are pissed off about the fact that they dropped the payment without any notice before and dropped the payment first and then told the partners about it..
Looking at their terms etc, it seem they can do this. But i've been in affiliate for around 15 years and never experienced this with a company.
Afcourse i had my payments dropped by a company so now and then, but i always was informed about the drop in a period of 1 or 2 months before.
And indeed now the whole ROI is **** up, because they changed it before informing the partners
It's definitely not the right thing to do, they should have warned you in advance, that would be fair.
But I guess there is not much you can do about it in case their terms allow this to happen.
Any idea about their reasons behind this decision? Maybe they calculated something wrong and they need to make up for the loss? It could still be the "lesser evil" ... better to get a decreased payout than none at all.
Its a webcam company, they increased payments for models and decreased payments for partners.
After calculating the difference they don't decrease the partners that much as the increase of the models, so they take some loss their self also.
So the loss is devided over partners and the affiliate company..
As i said before the biggest issue is the time of announcement and the time the new payments are activated,
which is couple of weeks before the announcement.
Yeah true, nothing i can do about this..
Luckily i was already starting more with alternatives of revshare, I was always confident of using revshare instead of cpa/etc..
But starting to rethink this, i think these days CPA or any other method where the profit is not in your returning customers is the best way to go.
