FB login blocked (picture verification) but Ad Campaigns still running??
Hello guys,
Hopefully someone will have encounter the same problem and has an idea :
On monday FB decided to first ask for an SMS verification on login because of suspicious activity and once logged in I discovered they had banned my main BM... I appealed because I didn't have a single Account blocked under this BM so no reason for a BM ban... after 2 hours FB emailed me saying "sorry it's a mistake it's open again"...
On Tuesday FB detected some suspicious activity when logging in, despite the fact that I'm... at home... using my regular laptop... they asked for a picture of my face for verification, which I provided but I still can't connect today...
Now for the "fun" part : all my campaigns on 6 accounts under this user are all running perfectly... except that I can't control anything (FB revoked my API access so I really can't stop the campaign at all and all my stop loss rules are NOT working anymore...).
Do you have any solution to pause the campaigns??
Of course I should have added someone else as Admin of those accounts but now it's too late...
I guess if I say to my bank to stop any payment on this CC it'll probably stop those campaigns after the next payment... but that's probably a sure way to get those account banned (?)
Or maybe they will verify my bloody picture tomorrow and all will be ok?? Anyone has had this kind of dumb verification?
Thanks,

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do..You can try to unlock your account, but the probability is small. Facebook has put a mark on your account and will now permanently block it, even if you unblock it. I would recommend closing the card and launching ads from another account. Here you will not be able to control it in any way, and the money will be written off.

Thanks for the info.
Now apparently this morning my personal account has been deactivated... not a single email from FB or any kind of explanation...
Needless to say that running whitehat offers is in no way a guarantee to no get into trouble when the dummy blue monster AI makes a mistake.

I have never heard of this on a real/genuine account no. On farmed ones it's quite common ofcourse.
One way to get your FB account maybe is ask a family member if you can enter the FB chat via their profile, explaining it all (mention your account id) and tell them you have really no clue why it's banned etc...

I doubt you will get it back. Once your personal account is deactivated, that's is pretty much it. Running WH offers doesnt protect you from the trigger happy algo however there must have been something in your set up that triggered it.
Few things to consider below;
- How many BMs did you have under the FB personal account?
- Were you an admin in other BMs for other different FB accounts?
- Is your ad copy completely clean - as marketers (whether BH or WH) it can be quite easy to push the envelope and garner user compliants
- How many times have your ad account been banned and reinstated - the higher the frequency the more chances of a permanent ban
There are so many trigger points that in reality it is very hard to pinpoint the issue thus the best way to mitigate situations like this is having a stack of fallback accounts to use when shit like this happens.

I was only an Admin in the 2 BMs under my personal account and I'm not sure I got a single Ad Account banned and reinstated, or maybe once a few years ago.
In the meantime I got an answer from my former Rep : he said the algo was doing all sorts of stupid things, he has one of the main Fitness/Gym chain as a client and the guy got disabled for "terrorism" by the AI (and got later re-enabled but it still say something about how bad the AI can be). He also told me that Reps have a special Form they can fill in case someone they know gets disabled for apparently no reason. He filled the form for me and we're waiting for info about the problem.

Wow.
Reading about stuff like this makes me more certain that FB is using a "guilty until proven innocent" approach to ad accounts - basically just do mass sweeps and automatic bans, then do manual reviews for accounts that bother to appeal.
I suppose this is the most labor-efficient way of controlling the number of blackhat accounts, but it's forcing even the whitest of white hatters to resort to getting backup accounts (farming/renting/buying) - which is of course against FB policy.
So ironic...
It's not half bad when they let you appeal, but NOT even giving you that option is quite sad.
I don't normally complain, but I hope FB would come up with an arrangement that's more fair to whitehat advertisers that have every intention of staying compliant.
@
wiifmdude Keeping my fingers crossed that you'll get that account back - at least you have an account manager that got your back!
