Hey, folks!
We have been visiting ASE, ASW, AWE and AWA for the last 4 years. Great events to study, make connections and have fun with the fellow soldiers.
This year we are looking for more events to add to the must visit list.
As our field of expertise is all around mobile applications, I wonder if some of u, guys, can recommend any events with a high concentration of products for mobile devices in 2020.
Appreciate your recommendations

I go to TES from time to time, good conference in case you're into adult... it's mostly just about the meet-market and parties, but pretty much all companies that "mean something" in the adult space are attending it, the one they hold in Prague in fall is the biggest one.
Other than that, I only visit AWE and AWA.
Matuloo, thanks for the insight. TES is also in our list)
In April is MAC in Moscow.
Last year I met quite a few affiliates there who run mobile content, pin submits and stuff.
I really don't understand why the tickets for attendees affiliates are so expensive? Like right now for AWE it's 609 EUR..... mmmm OK? I would never pay this much money to visit a conference...
Be it newbie afffiliate, experience inhouse media buyer, whatever.... I would not pay this money to go into conference.... I mean there are sponsors, right?
I am not playing a smartass (I don't really care), but I mean, hey.... if I go to the conference, people _might_ learn something from me, you know? Like, you meet other affiliates, this or that, you exchange information.....
I know this is a tricky subject, but it's just my 2 cents..... Affiiliates should go in for free... or I donno, pay a smal fee..... Because if I pay 600 EUR to go into conference, then the VALUE must be guaranteed? Who knows whats gonna happen, will you meet new contact or no one.... THen these seminars etc.... There are tons of them, but you will only attend few of them...... If this was smaller price, like you go to car show-conference, then you would get lot more people coming in, which means satisfied sponsors in the long term.....Which means theyre gonna keep exhibiting again and again.
Lowering the price will probably lower the quality of attendees and thus the overall quality of the conference.
You really underestimate (I think) personal contact and gaining goodwill with the people you work with. On the long term you will get more (cap, payout, offers, tips) from those people if you connect well.
It’s a mindset, simple.
I know enough affiliates who say “I am not gonna pay, normally I get invited etc”. Well yeah that’s a way to work, but comes with downsides too. Invest a bit and get more!
Hey forgamon,
I can understand your position and yes, the price can seem to be too high.
And especially for beginners it can seem to be very much money for just few days chatting with other people from the affiliate industry.
But I am with stickupkid about the point with the quality.
Often people need a higher price to value the things, they think cheap price = cheap product.
And unluckily often that´s also true.
Check trafficsources with $5-$10 minimum deposit where everyone can join or trafficsources with $500-$1k minimum.
Often you get what you pay for.
Cheap price = low entry barrier = attractive to many more people who are never serious about that stuff.
Then the overall quality could suffer and would make it less entertaining for everyone.
A conference will give you as much as you will make it to give you
Come unprepared and wait for someone to hand the info to you... not gonna happen. Plan forward, talk to people, watch the speeches ... even one piece of info can pay for the ticket price. I've experienced this time and time again, every single conference gave me something that I could improve my business with. I summed up my thoughts on the subject in an older blog spot, read it if you want: http://matuloo.com/awe-berlin-2017-a...e-conferences/
As for the pricing ... I've been to a few conferences with free access for affiliates, the parties were solid, there were quite a few attendees too. But the speeches were either absent or totally sucked. There was a huge amount of attendees who simply had no idea about the business. So it was a bit harder to find relevant people to talk to.
A higher entrance fee helps to filter out some people that you don't want to talk to anyways. People who pay a fee are there to make business, not just going for the fuck of it. It's like here on STM, there is less time wasters and trolls, because those won't pay a fee to mess with the members for fun.
Sponsors can only pay so much too, they can cover parties or food for sure, but the whole organizing team has employees to get paid, the high level speakers want something too... these things are not cheap. A conference such as AWE or AWA take months to prepare. The locations they chose are very expensive too... you can't organize something like this just from the sponsorships...
To put it simple, high quality conferences are VERY expensive to organize and someone has to pay for it
We invite you to Poland
The Silesia SEM is an SEO event that will take place on 22 May 2020 in the International Congress Centre in Katowice. This is the most important and the biggest conference in the SEO industry in Poland. The speakers will present interesting case studies, share new things in Google marketing, share their analysis and results. What is more, it is a great place to meet new people who are interested in SEO and networking.
