Recommend me a good Email Marketing software! (15)

Recommend me a good Email Marketing software!

I am looking for a good email marketing setup. Most things I promote will not go through Mailchimp/Aweber for long, so will need something that allows going more aggressive. Also they are really expensive when you have 10,000+ leads.

I heard good things about https://sendy.co/ + Amazon SES combination.

Any other recommendations?

I was just about to recommend Get Response.

But I have no idea how aggressive they allow.

GetResponse is definitely more lenient than MailChimp or Aweber. If you read MailChimp's Terms And Conditions they don't actually allow affiliate marketing.

If you really want freedom to mail whatever you want you need to find a service that will give you your own dedicated IP to email off of. Any email services that is letting you mail on a shared IP is going to keep a closer eye on what you are sending and will have a much lower tolerance to any complaints.

Now unfortunately, to get a dedicated IP you need to step up the food chain to a bigger (read: more expensive) commercial platform.

For the past few years I've been using Ontraport. For the average small mailer using Ontraport, they'll give you a shared IP but if you are a higher volume sender or in a risky niche, you will get a dedicated IP(s) .

That said, once you have your own IP, it's up to you to manage your sender reputation. For this I use a 250OK.com. I used to user ReturnPath but they're pretty bad now.

Once you're on your own IP your email platform doesn't really care what you send (assuming it's legal) because if you screw it up, you're not affecting anyone else's deliverability.

If Ontraport isn't your thing then finding any large commercial email platform (think = Marketing Cloud, Marketo, etc) will give you a dedicated IP... but those platforms cost a fair bit more than Ontraport will.

So Ontraport is a good solution.

I've also heard Klaviyo is good.

Also, I just ran across some more nuggets of wisdom for email lists from a marketing monster (your timing is great as he just posted these):

If you switch ESPs or email addresses, the deliverability will not be the same... so you have to warm them up...

Aka build trust on the email, ESP, IP address...

Been banned from ESPS including Klaviyo & had to learn this realtime

"Why is open rate only 1%!"

A good article on that is from send grid: https://sendgrid.com/docs/ui/sending...an-ip-address/

Another email pro-tip

If you start a brand new domain and start sending emails from it, will likely go to spam for 5 days after domain is created.

SEM Fresh solves this: https://mxtoolbox.com/problem/rhsbl/sem-fresh

Hope that helps!

Hey guys, thanks for all the responses.
Lots of information for me to explore more on this topic!

@jaybot Yeah, AWS SES does warmup themselves. It is pretty cool. I will be doing warm leads, so I think I can even test their managed ips first. But yeah, this is super important i think.
@kjrocker Looks like a good option. Will check.

@derekgehl Lots of golden nuggets man. Will check ontraport and 250Ok.

@juda11 Will pm you
@mindfume Enterprise looks quite large for an email starter like me haha. But thanks for the info.

Used this combo in the past. Amazon SES is cheap and more relaxed than mailchimp but they ban accounts (without warnings) if you are aggressive. I know from experience

I've used getresponse for a while and no problems so far, but I dont do aggressive mailings. Activecampaign is another one that is more affiliate friendly,

For adult, check ynotmail and blacksadhorse.
