I keep running across an interesting funnel on Facebook, and curious if this is just a simple arbitrage play, or what's going on here.
Here's the flow...
Step 1) Facebook ad promoting life insurance, and other verticals mainly targeting seniors.
Step 2) After clicking the ad you're taken to a blog post style landing page with "sponsored ads"-

Here's the actual blog post:

*Please let me know if I shouldn't post the link above, and I'll delete it!
Step 3) After clicking the sponsored ads, you're taken to a page with "related links" that looks like it's mimicking the look of Google ads, but in reality they all appear to be affiliate links-

Step 4) After you click a related link, you're taken to another page with actual Google ads-

I've seen multiple funnels like this, and the "related links" page at Step 3 always looks exactly the same.
Is the related links page an affiliate network offer or something?
It seems weird that they're sending people from a blog post to a "related links" page, and THEN over to another page with real Google ads. Maybe that's how they have to do it to be compliant with Google or something?
Just curious what's going on here...
is not aganist the tos of adesense?
I believe that's basic 'Search arb' but with an advertorial thrown in.
Basically the same thing as the "Dental Implant" ads you always see on native.
The person is being paid for each click they send to those final links.
I'm not sure where you go to access such deals, but basically its search ads done through an affiliate model.
Usually you see it done via direct linking where you click on the ad for 'Dental Implant information' or 'Drug Rehab options' or 'Local plumbers in your area' and then you immediately go to that weird page with the chalkboard-looking background and the ppc ads, but in this case the person must feel that adding in the advertorial increases the % of those who click through and 'convert'.
Seems to me it would make more sense to just link from that to a Life Insurance offer like National Family, but those search arb ads are ubiquitous so it must be profitable.
But yeah- anyone wiser than me feel free to chime in if the above is incorrect but that's my take on it!
They are simply parked domains, mostly via Parkingcrew.com
Great company, been parking my (and my clients) domains there for years.
Has anyone in their life clicked on an ad that's on step 3?
That's actually Media.net ads guys, we work a lot with them, have good rates (although a bit lower than Adsense).
I find it somewhat unlikely (but everything is possible when targetting seniors - LOL) but I guess the guys make a higher RPM with the Mnet ads than they pay CPM on FB, and so yes an arbitrage play.
Or heavily cloaked
Hi. How can media.net be contacted for such feed? I tried filling their form but they ask for a website. Can you please share a skype contact?
