PropellerAds making me go nuts

Hello, please help me understanding which ones are the correct estimates -

Are these stats any good overall? ( https://partners.propellerads.com/#/app/trafficChart )

I'm a total noob with this, but do clicks from South Africa really cost more than US clicks?

Thank you!

India has a TON of volume. Propeller's "Recommended" rate is different than their Optimal rate. Often times their recommended is the same as the Max, so you can kinda ignore it. Optimal to me looks like 0.6 CPM just looking at the visual chart there, after that you get minimal gains.

3G only traffic in ZA is some of the most expensive on the planet. This is because there isn't that nearly as much volume as other geos + lotsa competition for mobile content offers (Pin submit) here. This is also why mobile content offers can pay really well in ZA.

Thank you!
Just asked the same question about this confusion in my FA .
Turns out these stats are indeed accurate , YAY! and recommendations are just for noobs like myself to spend more money

I understand it's just their job to make affiliates spend more money, still that's pretty unprofessional.
So glad I have a backup of stm , else I would totally fall for the 'recommended' CPM

I think that either way you should always go from your stats. The recommended rates are usually not 100% what you need. It might be higher or lower that the actual bid. so i would offer you to see what you can do after a day or two of actual stats.

Also traffic estimators are never 100% accurate.
No matter which traffic source.

They are just what they are, estimators.

Use them to get a general overview if there is volume available or not but don't put too much trust in it.

The only numbers that don't lie are your own collected stats.

Same with recommended bids.

Every affiliate and every campaign has its own needs so what is good for one doesn't necessarily have to be good for the others.

For bids most important is to don't bid too low so that you not only buy the cheapest = worst converting traffic.

But to test if something works or not you also don't need to bid too high.

And for geos like IN there is so much volume available that you could spend an arm and a leg when you bid too high.
Mixed with (mostly) rather low payouts in such geos it's better to don't bid too high to first get a feeling for the traffic.

Yeah, you encountered the same issue I had when I first started using Propellerads. My son who is experienced in AM for over 5 years, explained it this way.

You should bid the amount of CPC or CPM you can afford to pay for a long term run or pay 50 to 100 % more than the minimum, if you want immediate result and burn through your budget fast.

My son say it is better to bid the CPC that will spread through the 24 hour day so you can adjust and optimize later. Optimal, 72 hours.

Now if you have a large budget than no problem bid higher, you will get some of the first impressions but that does NOT guarantee you will get any conversions.

The most difficult issue is to decide whether to run POP (CPM or SmartCPM) or PUSH CPC traffic, that depends on the offer.

One indicator I use is the PAYOUT, out of 100 Clicks on PushCPC, how many conversions will it take to break even, that is how I decide.

As a beginner if you break even, you are well on your way.

But since am new and have not have any success, you need to create a rule that works for you.

Other words, there is no use to bid for 10 million impressions when you only have a budget for 100 thousand impressions. Same for CPC.

But never give up, find another way, the prize may be closer than you think, just do not quit to soon.

MANAGE YOUR COSTS! Basic business 101, and you will have a chance to succeed.

It takes money to make money.

Good Luck!!
