Anyone has experience with this PPCALL technique?
I got this call today too - I was amazed. "You've won a $40 VISA gift card".
all jokes aside please; if u use this path to converting your campaigns please share your story i am looking into it in near future to go all in 100%.
some of the benefits:
On major affiliate networks, average earning per click for web offers is around .65. For Pay Per Call, average earnings >$10
Average conversion rates for online only campaigns is around 1-3%. Pay Per Call is around 30-50%.
Higher final sales prices with Pay Per Call
Better CTR with ads including a phone number
i posted this Q based on reasoning you guys here test all angles so u may know more than i do.
would like to know more about this as well. It's easy to find the offers, but not sure about the traffic. I've utilized call centers in the past but with cold calling (outbound) you effectively pay around $10+ per call, then you have to transfer them over where quite a few people can get lost etc.etc. so I don't think a call center would make a lot of sense here (unless you are able to get targeted calling lists or have the call center acquire them).
Not sure how high the call-in rate would be from simple banners with a phone number on them?
I got a approved for Paychex pay per call offer, they even gave me a bump before the fist call came in, it pays more than $10
They want business owners to sign up for payroll services.
This looks like a tough target hunt down and get them to call my PPC #, I do get a free month offer for the caller.
They suggested restaurant owners
Any ideas how I can market to this unique target?
I'm still on the fence with pay per call in regard to paid traffic...yes the payouts can be good, but you really have to screen the offers. Some of the merchants can be a bit shifty.
For example, with some offers you're only paid a commission if the caller presses 1 after the call is answered. If they press 2, you're out of luck but you've still paid for the click and the click can be expensive. One merchant had option 2 going to an entirely different offer for which I was not paid a commission. Another had option 2 as "more information", and who doesn't want more info, so there's another lost commission, even if they complete the offer. So do the test call before promoting to find out what you're up against.
Plus calls that are a second under the required time duration and repeat calls are not paid for. Sometimes you'll get lucky and the caller will place the call via landline or not click on your ad and just manually call the number, but that doesn't happen too often.
I'm not an expert, but this has been my experience so far. I don't doubt there is serious cash to be had, but there are some tripwires along the way.
Here is another person's experience with pay per call I found in forum posting from Share-a-sale's blog:
"I thought I would write a few lines about pay per call program. I would never have thought that as much time and energy that I spend promoting these programs. I recently applied to one of their PPCall programs, and saw that I had had some calls but none had reached the time per call requirements. I have been interested in just how the program works when the other day I came across a friend that was in need of the services this pay per call program offered. I asked suggested that she call the number listed on the advertisement on one of the pages. I asked her to actually time her call and then get back to me and let me know what had transpired. I intentionally did not let her know I would make a commission on the program. However, due to my relationships I have with this company, I will not mention their name at this time in this posting. You might find the results interesting
The customer makes the initial call. After 2 minutes she was handed off from the prequalifer to the closer. She was placed on hold. She was required to leave her phone number incase she was disconnected***
While she was on hold, she was indeed disconnected. This occurred at approximately 2.30 seconds into the call. The time required by the advertiser is 3 minutes. According to her, she was a bit frustrated by this, until she received a call back by the advertiser. The initial call was documented on my affiliate control panel log as 1.47 seconds.
The second call according to her phone was 4 minutes and 34 seconds. However on my log it showed that she was online on the phone for 2 minutes and 42 seconds. I was essentially screwed out of my commission. Total phone time by her phone was over 6 minutes but the control panel showed two calls under 3 minutes each.
So what did I do next?
I borrowed a phone from an associate and made a call to the same phone number and carefully documented each stage of the process. I made the call and spoke with the prequalifier. This took 6 minutes and 28 seconds at which time I was put on hold for the closer handoff. Again, I too was disconnected. I also received a call back from the closer and began the interview again. I intentionally kept interrupting the closer to continue adding more time on the clock. I kept the closer on the phone for 22 minutes and 35 seconds.
The results from the control panel as follows.
There was only 1 entry on the log that showed a total time of 6 minutes and 47 seconds.
I did get my commission this time. However, the time was totally incorrect and off by over 25 minutes.
Considering the total amount of calls showing on my log, yet no commission shown except for the call I made, I suspect I have been screwed out of a substantial sum of money. Like I said, I have not mentioned the name of the Advertiser, or the Affiliate Service Provider but, I can assure you that it is one of the biggest if not the biggest affiliate service provider on the Internet.
It is my intention not to collect or cash the earnings from this program or the provider. I will however do one more test to confirm the numbers. If this situation holds true for the next call, I will contact an attorney, and the two of us will sit in on another test. If it again holds true and the numbers are similar, then I will initiate a class action law suit on behalf of all pay per call affiliate marketers and notify all of you to join in on the suit. I myself am a bit pissed off actually.
If you can’t trust your affiliate service provider, who can you trust?"

For the person who PM'd me, the networks were Rexconnects and CJ. I can't send a PM since I don't have 10 posts yet.
I ran a similar PP-call offer on CJ as well. Similar results to what you saw. Psychics, huge traffic for PP-call, ended up with massive amount of just missed the payoff time cut. Ran the campaigns thru tracking numbers, which I know we're working fine. call recording too. Handed those off to customer service at CJ and no result. Lost faith big time. Never went back to PP-call.
I've been doing pay per call for MobileLeads and Rexconnects for about one month.
I'm doing wap phones, which means no landing page.
I haven't noticed a problem with not getting credit for the calls. (However, Mobileleads is 10 days late on paying me)
You can make a lot of money. But...
1. The bid prices on google are extremely high. Some people bid at 1/2 the price of the payout.
2. Your google ads only have 2 lines of 18 characters each. Not much room to say much or be creative.
3. WAP phones only display 2 ads per page. So, it's imperative that your ad is at position 1
This is just my experience so far. I'm moving on to smart phones where I can use landing pages.
