TrafficStars tips!

Hi guys, I’m starting scaling some of my campaigns for the first time on Trafficstars, and I would like to ask if you have any tips for this network to share.
Some basic stuff that are completely new to me are:

1)Are you using standard or dynamic bid?
2) Do you start with xhmaster only and then move to Ron, when you have a good funnel?
3) Is there a way to calculate yout position in the bidding chain?

Thanks

1) Dynamic
2) Xhamster and RON/Premium in parallel
3) Yes. Its possible to start with a high bid, and see how many impressions I get in 10 minutes. And then reduce it by half and see if the impressions are still kinda same. If not, you increase the bid to a value that is between previous and current bid. And continue until you find the inflection point. This is how you plot the bid curve, which is quite useful while scaling. I have an inhouse software that does this There is a great article by Caurmen on plotting bid curve, I recommend you search for it here in the forum and then read it. But truth be told, I usually just put a random high bid, and optimize it up or down when i optimize daily. I look at bids in more detailed way when the campaign looks really good and has high volume.

If you want more detailed info, ask

Can you also ask your AM what position you're bidding?

Thank you, @profit-rex, what I did was to set dynamic and put a really high bid (CPM), something like 0.70$ to 0.80$. My thought process was that the CPM I will be paying will be the top bid at that spot at that moment (I started with a single xhmaster spot) and then adjusted my bid around that number... Does it make sense to you? I mean do you think this is accurate?
Also I had ridculously low bids compared to TF, something like close to 0.10 for mobile DK (again only 300*100 xhmaster), is that normal? At TF I had something 0.20 to 0.30 for the same spot...

Thanks @chinopaisa, I haven't thought about it, lol, I will try to reach out to them!

Yup, with the dynamic bid, you should pay a bit more than the next bidder below you. But careful with this, if someone decides to up the bid, yours will go up too. So you can end up paying those $0.70-$0.80 all of a sudden... I've done this personally many times, to drive competition away

When I look at my bids at TS and TF usually I see the same, so paying more on TF... but the traffic profile is cleaner at TF, less out-of-geo clicks, less different language settings etc ... so the traffic also performs better for me. Then again, it depends on the particular spot and GEO, it's not ALWAYS the case.

Thank you @matuloo, what I did was to let the campaign run with the dynamic bid for a while, saw what the ecpm was and then adjusted the bid a bit lower.
You are right the CPM at TS was a bit lower than TF but in the specific spot it didn't run even close as good as it run at TF, but it is just a spot at a GEO so I have some testing to do there..
What network would you suggest to try to scale? I am running at TF and very specific spots at TJ atm. Do you think TS is a solid choice?

TS is a solid network yes, for me it's a bit harder to optimize their traffic compared to TF, but as long as you want xhamster traffic at volumes, thats the only place to get it

TJ would be a great source if only they wouldn't sell the traffic via private deals or whatever it is that they are doing... with all the traffic they have on pornhub and thelikes, it's not possible that those volumes they have in TJ are all there is.

Try TrafficForce too, it's a smaller network but pretty good quality.

TrafficFactory is the best adult networks at the moment IMO.
