Or how to search out of the box
Hiya clickers,
I've been racking my brain for the life of me trying to find more images for angles instead of using the same ones people have been using over and over again (even though they work).
There's nothing wrong with trying new stuff out.
So say you're doing something like a "cakepops" angle promoting daily deals as per this case study.
You could search "cake pops" and get the same thing you're all using OR
You could use parameters like "funny cake pops" "angry bird cake pops" and other adjectives.
Now I now this has been covered with IQ angles when trying to find those images but it should help some of you.
Using adjectives can really extend the reach of what comes up in search engines - especially when you use my, your, Mom's, Dad's, ours.
If you wanted to find a pic of a single guy on a big boat portraying that he's rich and adventurous. You don't want to search "single guy on a boat I can use for my Richmen campaign" ... do ya?
no
Here's how I would go about it:
"my boat"
"dad's boat"
"uncle's boat"
"Jims/Bob/Steven/etc's boat/yacht/charter"
"my charter trip"
"my charter catch"
"my charter grouper"
etc etc etc
I think you get the idea.
The same goes for iPad stuff. So many people use iPad imagery for various campaigns but try tweaking your search strings to come up with fresh images.
Example:
"silver/gold/diamond ipad"
"angry birds ipad"
"edition ipad"
"leather ipad"
blah blah blah you know how it goes.
Have fun,
CSB
I do this stuff all the time and it really makes a difference. The best is when you use these adjectives on smaller image sites (other than google), thats when you find some great stuff.
Photoshopping sites is where i really find the golden CTR
yeah sometimes I get caught in the mindset of thinking "I need a pic of a single dude" instead of thinking "what would a single guy name his pic"
