Hi guys,
What kind of tactics / strategies do you use during the holiday shopping season?
At first, I don't run any heavy discount sales because of protection of my brand value. We do 15% at most and that was during black friday.
I let my writer do some best gift for blabla (niche related) and mostly link to my own products. I will be running fb ads to this blog post. I got a banner on the front page linking to this article to give people good ideas for gifts.
Also will send some emails of course to my list with tips and stuff.
What are you doing to generate the most sales right now?
Our stuff isn't what you put under the Christmas tree. Nor does it do well on BFCM, but the advantage is that it's pretty consistent through the year.
So can't share a campaign.
Just some ideas:
- make a gift guide on your site that includes related products (as well as yours). Reach out to the ohter brands that you mention in your guide and hope they promote it to their audience
- See if you can find people that will include a flyer of your product in their box. Do the same for them as a cross promotion
- reach out to others that do gift guides and get them to include yours
- get in touch with influencers and let them talk about your product as a gift and let their audience tag those people they want to give it to and give a few products for free to give to the audience
- do the same for your own audience - let them tag someone they want to gift your product too and a reason why. Select 5 as winners
The essence is to promote of course, but to make people think "hey, this is actually a great gift idea". That context is key.
Hope this can serve as inspiration.
Good luck!
