Getting distracted [again], need some advice as for where to start.

Hey everybody!

Joined the forum not a while ago, so far loving it and i'll def stick around.

I've been in AM for a few years now and making good money but mainly with SEO and websites ive built that took years to develop... but the good thing is i am pretty technical and understand the concepts, basics and all that.

Im trying to get better at paid traffic but just don't know which route to take? should I start with push? or native? I wanted to start with push then saw some cool ideas for campaigns that might work well with native and im all over the place.

One of my biggest short-comings is not sticking with something long enough and jumping to the new thing, and I Really want to make paid traffic work this time [ I never made it work. tried FB ads with ecom / traffic arbitrage and just spent a few $K with shitty results]

So I've decided to really stick with 1 approach, master it and make it profitable before I try anything else.

I guess my question is for someone like me, who is NOT very familiar with paid traffic but is very familiar with the AM world and knows a thing or two, and considering its 2019 [not sure if one works better than the other in this year], do you guys think I should start with push or native?

which one will get me to profitability quicker, not because im worried about losing a few bucks, but because I know that once i see some winnings i'll get super motivated and that will snowball into more success.

another factor that might come into consideration: I dont mind investing 2-3K a month in traffic at this stage, but that'll probably be my max until of course, I scale winning campaigns.

Basically got a little confused with all the info I Read on here so any advice would probably help

P.S English is like my 3rd language so I apologize for the spelling in advance haha

and thanks in advance

I'd start with Push doing CPC, as it's cheaper to run camps, and get profitable pretty quickly (and tons of room to scale).
Plus, you'll get to know the basics of using creatives and landers a lot quicker.

Once you get good with that, you can transition to Native pretty smoothly. It does require a hefty testing budget though.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for the relpy Jaybot

Just launched my first campaign today with propeller.

Picked a cc submit with $20 pay, im targeting SA
So far got 402 clicks and 0 conversions. cost is about $20 for the traffic so far.

What do I do next? is that bad or do i let it keep running ?

Im using a good pre-lander [with the spinning wheel] and then the user needs to fill out a form 1st page, 2nd page is cc submit, the offer is free iphone.

Will appreciate your thoughts

I would do SOI long before attempting a CC submit.

I'm not saying it's not possible, it is, it just requires a lot more patience, testing, optimization, and budget.

Get some easy wins under your belt first.

You can even use the same lander, just search for a similar offer with SOI.

Good point, in terms of the budget I dont mind throwing 2-3K on traffic per month, nobody likes to lose money but i hae the money i have other successful ventures online so id rather try to figure out these higher paying offers ($20) than the soi... UNLESS you're telling me it'll somehow teach me more if I start with SOI? that i dont know, just dont want the money to be the issue.

You definitely have the right attitude and risk tolerance, that will help immensely

At this stage, it's not entirely about the money. Even if it is.

Right now, you need the experience of running a shitload of offers, on several networks, across a bunch of traffic sources. That will get really exhausting and expensive if going for the minimum of negative 1-2x payout on each zone/placement/creative before cutting it if the payout is $20. A lot easier to do with SOI.

SOI is also much easier to convert. So you can collect data faster and see how optimization works.

I would still highly recommend going through vortex's 40-day pop tutorial just to run a few pop campaigns and get a feel before jumping into anything else. You can breeze through it in a few days since you have tracking, hosting, network, ad source already setup.

Start with Push and then with leadgens instead of going direct into CC submits.

Collect stats on leadgens and then use the data for CC submits.

Will be much cheaper for testing and you can already have profitable campaigns (probably) much faster.
