Carrier Mobile Content- how t promote?
Hi,
How to effectively promote Carrier Billing, Mobile Content offers(Video subscription, Games, Cartoon shows etc)?
Mobipium and Mobidea have many such types of offers.
I have tried to promote by Direct Linking, have got some conversions, ROI remains just around break even(5-10%).
I know, the offers are proven, AM said many people are making big profits with these offers.
I think, I have to improve my Ad Title and description, so that I can motivate people to buy, but I don't really know how can I do that- how to motivate them to subscribe to Cartoon shows or buy Games. Please give some tips how can I do that. Do I need to understand more about that particular Cartoon show or Game? I even don't know who actually buys Cartoons and Games- children or their parents? Is there a way to specialize/master this vertical?
And how much time(days) and money should I be ready to spend on testing and optimising(making profitable) a $4 offer. Till now I have only tried 1 creative, title, ad description etc.
And other option can be to use a Lander, it might improve conversions, but I am not sure where to find a lander for any particular cartoon, game etc. Even finding lander in that particular language(German, Arabian,Bengali) etc can also be a big hurdle, thats why I am avoiding lander.
So I know that the offer is proven, now the problem can be only 1 of these- Targeting, Creative, Ad or Traffic Source(too costly). So I have to decrease costs or improve conversions somehow.
Please give some tips. Thanks

Using a prelander will always help and having it in the native language ( 90% of the time ) is ideal. Invest some time and money getting your landing pages translated via Fiverr. And it is always good to test a few variations of your creative. To find landers you need to use spy tools like anstrex or magic adz, its costly, but if you want to make money in the aff space spy tools, prelanders, and translations are all extremely important.

What targeting do you use in your Push campains?
When you not only target carrier traffic you will also receive WiFi traffic.
It can work on Pin submits, but 1 or 2 click offers mostly only convert on carrier traffic from specific carriers so you would need to target only this traffic.
Apart from that it´s true that mobile content is not that easy to convert anymore as it was some time ago.
There were Geos where you could easily make few hundreds per day just with direct linking to 1 clicks.
But in many Geos the regulations got stricter and the flow more complicated so conversion rate decreased.
I think, I have to improve my Ad Title and description, so that I can motivate people to buy, but I don't really know how can I do that
Don´t motivate them to "Buy", motivate them to convert.
You don´t need to tell them they have to buy an expensive subscription.
Better tell them that they receive
- Funniest videos on earth
- The newest games for THEIR phone
- Sexy videos that makes them cum in 3 minutes
and so on.
Often the offers itself should have good pages to convert so it can work direct linked with Push traffic.
But splittesting with landers is always a good idea.
For mobile content just use very simple and basic landers.
No complicated stuff, no long texts.
Basically just a good image about what you promote to warm the users up and then a clear CTA to redirect to the offer.
Landers also depend on what exactly you want to promote.
When it´s a popular game for example use images from the game.
When it´s general game content you still can use a popular game to trick them into subscription.
You could also make a lander with overview about several games with "Play Now" as CTA.
For such stuff you can easily customize Tube style landers for example.
Talking about Tube style landers, they can work pretty good for adult content and funny videos.
Important is to keep the landers simple and basic without much text.
You know, 1 picture tells more than 1000 words.
So give the users a good visual, a clear CTA and let the offer do the rest.

Usually you are right, I even get all my landers translated on Onehourtranslation instead of Fivver although it is more expensive.
But for that basic landers with only few words you can use Google translate.
The translations there are not that good for long texts but when it´s only a short phrase then Google translate works good.
Same for Push creatives, I also use Google translate for all my Push creatives.

Yes, test some variations.
Then compare results on trafficsource and real performance in tracker (important to use creative tokens for tracking when the trafficsource supports it).
Reason is that the trafficsource mostly gives the creatives with highest CTR the most traffic but that can be different from real performance in tracker.
So when you see that a good converting creative doesn´t get enough traffic from the trafficsource test it seperated from the others so that it receives the whole traffic in a campaign.

Magic Adz is only for FB as far as I know.
Also you won´t find many landers for mobile content on spy tools.
But it´s not hard to create them when you follow my tips above.
When you still have problems with it I can post some landers that work.

What worked the best for me with carrier billing offers were either "content walls" or specific warnings.
Content wall is a page with many screenshots of whatever it is you're trying to subscribe them to... games, videos, adult stuff...
Specific warning page is a simple 1-page warning page that suggests the content is either limited, restricted to certain audiences, border line legal etc ... basically make it look like it's something that they shouldn't really be getting access to.
I made a lot of $$$ by using these two.
Just to set things straight, carrier billing is nowhere near as hot as it used to be when I focused on it, so the performance of such offers went down a LOT.

Exactly, this is what I meant with the tube style landers.
They can be customized very easy and then they can be used for adult content, videos, games, software and so on.

Hey, I would also focus my media buy on mobile display and mobile pops as well, you'd gain a volume traffic and hundreds of thousands of placements running your offer, it would make sense to spend a bit and generate data, if your targeting works as it should - and you are receiving traffic from the carriers you need I would then focus on SubID and I won't try to limit inventory by restricting my targeting further. Mobile content campaigns such as the ones offered by the companies you mentioned work very well for pop and push, as well as display placements (native mostly), if you'd like to test these campaigns with us please chat with our managers and we will be able to manage the campaign for you and reach your goals.
