Hello, whenever you test different creatives on push, what are some ways to prevent the creatives from competing against each other? Do you test all creatives at once or pause a creative before testing another creative? (To get the most accurate data for each creative)
Why would you try and prevent competition between your creatives? That's the whole point of split testing.
I run all creatives at the same time (usually no more than 4-5 at a time, so that data doesn't spread to thin)
Yup, daanja is right, you want the creatives to be rotated evenly, that's the meaning of a split test. You need them to be rotated at the same time, so they all get a share of traffic from the same placements at the same times of the day ... The source will rotate the ads for you, in case they are in the same campaign of course.
I also run them at the same time.
I have proven set of creatives that I let rotate.
I believe it helps to prevent single creative saturation (ie. you can keep them running longer).
Another thing (with some sources) is that some creatives will do better CTR wise 1 day and traffic source will reward you with more impressions (traffic), but might be worse the another.
In case I would have just 1 creative I would lose traffic.
So yes, test more, do not over-burn those DBs with just 1 creative
