We separate our campaigns by device. So when setting up 1 unique campaign, we setup 3 campaigns in taboola segmented into mobile, tablet and desktop.
We're seeing a lot of push traffic on all devices. Curious to hear what you guys do for push traffic? Do you blacklist and then segment onto other campaign, just blacklist? or..?
There's some Pushnami and API stuff for US that I usually end up blacklisting right away (AW - OnlinePlus - API is junk), but some Pushnami placements still work; Pushnami - Premium US being one looking through my reports.
In any case those placements didn't do enough volume to warrant making separate campaigns with them IMO so I'd just manually adjust smartbids if something was converting.
Are you running some other geo where push is a big % of the daily traffic?
Hey, so I have found that blacklisting right away is the best. However, on a few occasions have had no choice to segment onto other campaigns and it has worked in my favor. What other networks have you tried this with? Honestly depends on the offer of course at the end of the day too. Lol. I am curious to see what everyone else has to say on this too.
I immediately blacklist... Push traffic is quite different from native and requires a separate approach
I find it extremely annoying that so many networks mix in push traffic with native traffic.... At least Taboola is transparent about it, many other networks won't even show you that it's push
I have everything with 'Push' or 'Propeller' in the title blacklisted on Taboola as well, although as mentioned above there are a few Pushnami widgets that seem to convert sometimes so there must be a range of quality within it.
Would also second what @daanja said - very much appreciate Taboola openly labeling them what they are and not just mixing it in without any transparency.
