Penny Auctions Here I Come! (15)

Penny Auctions Here I Come!

I have been struggling at this for a while. I am determined to quit by j.o.b. in the first quarter of 2012, so goal of $1K per week. I have decided to go with penny auctions, tried others and failed miserably. I like the scalability of penny auctions and there are always hot new products coming out.

I really want to think everyone in this forum for the feedback. Here is the process I used, if there are any glaring holes, please feel free to comment.

1. Got dedicated server at server pronto - probably overkill at this point but trying to do things right from the beginning.
2. Using Prosper 202 for tracking
3. Checked some penny auction landers on a computer that has hotbar.
4. Got the top 2 penny auction offers for US from my AM at EWA
5. Using offer rotation script from ctrtard to rotate the offers to split test offers
6. Created different variations of landers around kindle fire and ipad. If these work can scale to other products (playstation, tablets, etc)
7. Checked the load time of offers and landers in pingdom tools - under 2.5 secs.
8. Using lander rotation script to split test the landers
9. Used the tools on Affexpert to generate URL
a. got related keywords
b. scraped URLs
c. scraped related URLs
d. removed some broad urls like target.com
10. Uploaded campaigns to LI with enough bank to test $50 payout of penny auction offers.
11. Documented my steps in case the works, I can replicate

I have attached some of my landers. I will let you know what happens as soon as LI approves my campaigns.

Thanks
Mike

I think your LP's need to be changed.

What number is that on the LP? Why does one of them say its a free gift?
Might want to give them an estimated price of the product. "HOT PRICE" doesn't really get me intrigued.

Also hope that you have a countdown timer on the "Time Remaining Now!" part.

Those are just a few quick things that come to mind when i look at the LPs.
Nonetheless, looks like you're dedicated and have a good action plan.

Goodluck!

Changed the landers as shown above.

Ipad landers getting over 5% CTR and Kindle only 3%
No conversions, but not enough traffic yet for any conclusions.

Trimmed some of the URLs with a lot of traffic and not Click throughs.

We'll see what happens.

On Gtmetrix the load time is 1.82 sec and pingdom tools from Dallas is 2.10 sec.

THATS ALOT! Cut it down to 1sec or less.

Add in a cdn like MAXCDN. Will help load speeds.

Polar setup a great thread with LOTS of info about it here:

Any updates on stats?
Impressions, Clicks, CR?

01-02-2012 09:13 PM #12 successliv (Member)

No a lot of results yet. Did not run most of today as I learned how to set up CDN.

I have my Ipad landers up to 4.75%, as I cut URLs with high traffic and no / low click throughs
The dark ipad lander slightly outperforming the light one, more traffic needed

The kindle fire landers are only getting less than 4% CTR, the ipad is much better so far.

I have only run for two days prior to today. I now have the CDN installed and have narrowed some URLs increasing CTR. But no conversions.

My total spend for two days is only $34.04

12/31/11 1355 impressions 26 clicks (most clicks were target.com - removed URL - need to pay better attention to scraped URLS)
1/1/12 914 impressions 33 clicks still under 4% CTR total (removed some more unperforming URLs). This is much better. Again the Ipad numbers are much better than Kindle Fire.

Thanks
Mike

Ok this isn't working.

Combined (kindle & Ipad)
1/2/11 511 LI Impressions 13 Clicks,an amazing 2.5% conversion 0 conversions
1/3/11 662 LI impressions 17 clicks still 2.5% CTR. No conversions

My total spent in only $65, so plans:

Plans:
stopped the Kindle completely. Tested four landers, the best CTR was 3.95

The light Ipad has CTR of 4.42%
The dark Ipad only 3.24%

cut some high traffic low CTR Urls.

When I get time this weekend, will make new landers and target auction sites via the URL scrapper?

Thanks

OK I dont give up that easily. Changed my lander and went with the ugly theme, with dynamic inserting of the URL

Changed keywords to focus on

ipad wholesale
ipad refurbished
ipad auction
etc and scraped URLs

with max cdn load time under 1 sec.

Let's see if this is any better.

Good for you for not giving up. Sometimes one angle you think will do well just doesn't pan out. Don't be afraid to test landers that are even simpler. do you have any audio up? If not, try doing some spying on high volume targets and save the landers. A lot of them have audio you can use "Congratulations, you are today's winner" etc that kind of stuff.
