I have an ad that's accrued 2k clicks over a couple of day, doing 0.25% in CTR but the bid floor is stuck at $0.16. What should I do to get a lower bid floor?
Your CTR is good, whats the suggested bid exactly? and how large is your reach?
on some demos there is a floor...and no matter what you do your not gonna go any lower....16c USA isn't bad....tbh at that point I would work less for ctr and more for cvr....I know others go the other way on that one but anything above .1% ctr I work towards a better conversion and less of a boost in ctr....
Suggested bid range: $0.15-$0.41
Reach: 500k
have you tested your ad with similar interests?
If your suggested is 0.15 you can probably get away with 0.14 bids and 0.10 - 0.11 actual CPCs.
BUT to really drop your clicks:
You'll want to try increase your CTR to ~0.35%. The gap between 0.25% and 0.35% will make a big difference. A majority of affiliates will hit 0.25% but not many will hit a steady 0.35% because it isn't easy, so by hitting a CTR around that your actual CPC will drop significantly. After that you'll want to do what polar said and work on conversion rate. I would put in some time and find 100+ UNIQUE images, and edit some of them to create a X factor.
@stackman by creating a X factor, you mean adding borders, special effects etc.? because i'm having a hard time getting a better CTR than 0.15% actually..
Personally for higher conversion rates, I see all the difference in the "body" part of the ad and tell the user what they can honestly expect from the product, and not saying like " sign up now" with no info.
X-factor isnt really borders, it's about finding or editing an image that will make someone click. Everyone has seen a picture of jay-z, but has anyone seen a picture of jay-z kissing kanye west? BOOM! x-faxtor!
@blackberry
I agree, the body paragraph definitely plays a big role in conversion rates. This is because you have the ability to pre-qualify your clicks with your copy
@stackman, but something that's so weird won't get the attention of facebook reviewers and just deny it?
Has anyone experienced an image being so weird there is a disconnect between the image and the offer?
I know a few of my pubs have ridiculous click through's but horrible CVR.
What is everyone's experience with this?
