Hello guys, I started this few days ago. I had a maxbounty account so quickly tested a offer in US for $20 but didn't got any conversions.
I came back and read some follow along threads and saw Amy telling to test multiple offers at first, so I'm going to do that now. Going to apply to some cpa networks and test multiple offers.
Question: I tested with the "Standard" ad delivery method in propellerads. $10 was spent in 10 minutes with 20k traffic. Is this the right way to test different offers or should I try "Distributed" method to evenly spread the traffic? Does this make any difference?
Cheers.
I believe that going for the distributed/even form of delivery will give you a better "taste" of what the traffic is like.
The absolutely best is to take a full day or a couple of full days of certain targeting segment at a decent bid, but I understand that can be costly. This way, you would really see how much volume there is and what the quality is like. You can try to narrow this down to a specific OS/device or something like that, in order to limit the available volume.
Another option would be to use a whitelist and only target a couple placements.
But in the beginning, distributed delivery should be a good option too. If you go for the accelerated model, chances are you will get a blast of impressions/visits from a large placement and in case that one happens to be of poor quality or full of bots, the data will not be worth much. If you spread is out with the distributed model, you will get visits from more placements and that should be a more representative sample.
Matuloo has provided an explanation on whether to use the "distributed" setting.
I want to comment on the offer you chose: For beginners, you probably don't want to start with $20 offers. It would take at least $200 just to get a rough estimate. Choose offers with low payouts in the $1-3 range. That way, you can test more offers on the same budget, because you can collect more data (conversions etc.) on a lot less money compared to $20 offers.
