Scaling campaign on Exoclick, one large campaign or lots of small ones? (3)

Scaling campaign on Exoclick, one large campaign or lots of small ones?

Hypothetically lets say you have a campaign that you want to scale on Exoclick (or similar traffic network with lots of sites). Lets also says it's in a large geo so many of the spots could have at least say a $30/day min spend for example say a large geo mobile campaign etc.

In a situation like this would it be better to create 1 large campaign that say has 20 spots, or would you break it down into smaller individual campaigns for these spots?

I can see how breaking them down into smaller campaigns can help you to optimize since maybe certain banners will work better on certain sites.

The downside I see though is now you have lots of extra work which may not be the best use of your time.

Thoughts?

Again great topic Jabong . I would also like to see different thoughts from different people here on this thread.

Although I don't have much exposure on exo but I think I would go with 1 large campaign first and then will break it down into promising spots later. I think first level of testing should be done in 1 large campaign where we can remove bots and unwanted traffic in 1 go. After that second step should be to create couple of campaigns by dividing promising spots.

I don't really see this as a downside.

If you have 1 spot that has volume, then it makes sense to create 1 campaign just for that spot....... Because different spots will have different CTRs, therefore will require different caps, bid etc etc..... Even on 1 same site, it would make sense to create separate campaign for different spots.

Then again, if you have lots of placements/sources with lower volume, then it makes sense to put them into 1 campaign.... or at least create campaign by the type of the placements (like NTVs, Footers etc).
