Do Sweeps Work on Adult Traffic?

Hi,
Has anyone gotten sweeps (e.g. you have a chance to win an iphone etc) to work on adult traffic?

I was thinking of trying it out with the standard angle and some other 'sexier' angles as well.
But would love to hear from anyone else before I dive in :-)

NOTE: Just head back from my AM that they do not allow Adult Traffic for the offers I wanted to run - so will not be continuing with this.

I wouldn’t disturb someone during his masturbation session with a free iPhone.

Also remember adult traffic sources are highly competitive.

Ofcourse it could work, just need to test different creatives and angles. “You are a wanker! If you don’t compete for this iPhone.... lol

Yes, they work.

Just be careful, because most offers don’t allow adult traffic.

I would give it a try with your winning offer+lander combo.

Cheers,
wakeboarder

Definitely work.

I've never understood why it's prohibited to have traffic from an adult site to a tame offer. I understand the other way obviously. You don't want to a pop-up with hot naked titties showing up on a cat blog.

But the other way around? I don't see the harm** Low Tier 2 and Tier 3 (aside from ME countries) shouldn't pose a problem**

**(ask your AM, obviously. And don't blame jaybot if you get in trouble).

Well I can imagine you don't want your product to be shown on pornsites. A sweep ofcourse is different but if I have an honest product I don't want it to appear with banners on adult sites for example.

Yup, this is usually the case, the advertisers don't want to harm their image by being associated with porn sites. I can understand this in case of some large brands for sure, plus there are products that are completely NOT compatible with adult traffic ... products for kids for example. But in general, I also don't understand why some many advertisers refuse to take adult traffic. At the end of the day, it's still the same people who browse facebook or instagram, just with a different plan for the evening

One way or another, it's always good to ask, I've seen many offers that would accept adult traffic, with the condition of not using any sexual stuff in the banners.

Sweeps is a hard sale on Adult sites, everything is so aggressive that it just disappears inside all of the noise of ads that are running that are so in your sweeps. Maybe if there could be a product with an adult orientation that might work. But i think it's a hard sale on adult sites

The ONLY way to make it work is to have a themed lander and angle that aligns with audience on adult sites. And then cover your tracks so the advertiser doesn't find out you are running adult.

Whenever I talk with someone about advertising non-adult related things to adult traffic, I always mention this case study: https://blog.eat24.com/how-to-advert...-porn-website/

Not sure how much it was cooked to get them viral attention, but it's an interesting read anyways

@matuloo - Holy Sh%T! - that makes so much sense!!

I might try that out with my current Sweep offers.
It'll be fun coming up with Banner Ads for it - will definitely have to brainstorm :-)

Do you know anyone who has used this method to promote Non-Adult on Porn sites?

To be honest, I don't see that much non-adult stuff being promoted on adult sites these days, but there are some.

I've seen some interesting approaches on using adult-style banners for non-adult products.

For sweeps, there were angles like: "Your favorite adult movies play better on a new iPhone, get it for free"
Quite a few people are promoting regular MMO style games with semi-sexy banners showing the characters in suggestive poses, suggesting that these games are for adults.
Another approach I've seen were comics sites that also have a few adult ones and using them as bait to sell the memberships.
VPNs are being promoted on adult sites too, the angle is the classic "your wife might find out you're watching porn, use a VPN to prevent this from happening"...

Most of the campaigns for non adult products that are running now are kinda working with the adult side of things and trying to blend it together. I guess thats the way to do it.

@matuloo - thanks!

That has my creative juices ... flowing :-)

I have a few ideas I'll try out and report back.

BTW - Do you know any online tools (free preferred) to quickly put togeather banners to test?
- I don't want to have to learn photoshop or other advanced tool unless I really need to

I have a custom coded tool where I can quickly swap pics on banners and the ad copy, but it's very basic so Im not using it all that often. Most of my banners are done by my designer or my biz partner, it's really quite easy to just swap an image or the text, without doing any changes to the layout. I know this isnt the advice you were looking for, but Id really suggest to learn the basics in some graphics editor It's gonna take you a few hours, but once you get the hand of it, it's quite easy to do these basic changes and thats all you need to test an angle or a photo.

Imagine some dude jerking off and getting a free Walmart gift card popup. HaHa, wrong timing!

I dunno... you can buy a lot more porn with a $1000 Walmart giftcard!

And a new iPhone? Imagine how much better watching titties on a Retina HD screen would be!

Yup, this is it exactly, I mentioned a couple more examples 5 posts above this one. Just find a way to align the angle with the adult nature of the traffic and it can work
