Linking from YouTube ads to your tracker or product sales page?
Hey all,
I'm wanting to start running some traffic on YouTube, but Google disapproves links if they mismatch the destination URL/domain. So are you forced to use a bridge page? I'd like to send the clicks through to my tracking software before sending them on to either the offer's lander, or a presell page.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I'll throw out my .02$ here... I *believe* google/Youtube doesn't allow redirects, so most people who use trackers use that 'landing page pixel' tracker system where you just enter the actual url you're sending them to but put the tracker 'landing page pixel' in the landing page, which recognizes the click, tracks all the info, and sends it wherever its supposed to go from there.
Unless your talking about how to cloak Youtube in which case I have no idea
Hopefully a more knowledgeable person can share their thoughts on the subject too!

Yup, I also think using a tracker that is capable to track clicks without using a redirect link would be the best for this. This way you can also register some easy-to-type domain and use it as watermark in the video and in the descriptiption, which should increase the number of clicks you get from these videos.

Heya mate, check out this article --
http://docs.funnelflux.com/en/articl...ith-funnelflux
In my experience, Google doesn't like it when the lander (end destination) domain does not match the domain in the ad URL.
However, they seem to be OK with subdomains as these are not considered "third-party redirects" or "cross-party". Your mileage may vary tho -- for me this was fine in testing, but I recall it then not being allowed for some customers. Google...
So, the simplest solution would be to use go.domain.com for your tracker, then have domain.com for your landers. This is usually easy to set up for most trackers depending on how easy it is to handle custom domains. With FunnelFlux you can just point a new domain at the tracker and away you go, but on others (especially SaaS trackers) it might not be so straightforward.
Otherwise, there's a few options as in my article above. You could use iFrames, PHP includes, and various methods to try and accomplish split-testing from the same page URL.
One cool thing you can also do is use the Fluxify feature in FunnelFlux -- with this you could point some-nice-domain.com at your tracker and use that in your ad. Then in your funnel you can rotate multiple landers, and they will all server under some-nice-domain.com.
This will only work (i.e. no redirects, content served directly under ad URL) as long as you don't have dynamic tokens present in the lander URL, or use conditions before the page delivery. Can take a bit of testing too, as Fluxify is not perfect, so some page content may break -- much easier if you own the pages though, vs if you're trying to Fluxify some random third-party's URL.
Anyway, the above doc should provide some useful guidance on this matter. There's multiple routes to take depending on your tracker choice and technical setup.

Thanks for the info. So - you can use iFrames? I was guessing t hat google was too smart for that. Really what I'd like to do is take the user to the actual offer page without a presell or bridge page. If I can use an iFrame, that'd be excellent.
