Hit credit card limit - what will happen with the fb account ?

So i hit my CC limit on my FB account. I will have to wait a few days until it's resolved.

What will happen if the payment doesn't succeed?

Blocked account until paid ?
Nothing - invoices just add up ?

Just want to be sure. In the first case i should pause everything. In the second case i could take the risk & continue.

What's your experience?

Thanks !

All ads will be paused. Maybe it'll affect the rating of your account but I'm not sure about that.

Had that twice for a few days and my acc is still alive.

Nothing happens, FB will just pause your ads. I have an account that had a CC declined. Never paid the balance because the ads were not making money. Came back 6 months later, paid the balance and the account was still good!

Facebook isn't as bad as google.....google doesn't like it at all when your card gets rejected

Abcd,

If you have a second credit card - be sure to add it as a "back-up funding source".

If you do not have a secondary card you can use -- just make sure to call in and pay your bill before your limit is hit. I used to have to do this 7 years ago when I started spending big with small cc limits. It was a pain, but I found that by calling in and paying my bill early my credit limit was increased within 2 months multiple times.

Hopefully your with a legit aff network that will pay you when you need the bank roll. PZ hommie and Merry Christmas to all!

Ask your bank to increase your Credit limit, that's the only solution.

This will work almost everytime -- just make sure you pay off your current debt on that specific card before you do so.

Same thing happened to me, I'm switching to an AMEX with no spending limit...

Its actually $30-$40k spending limit on their "no limit" cards But it can go pass that after some time in good standings.

Yeah - Amex uses a "spending comfortably" style limit. So, your "no spending limit" could by as low as 5k if your new to AMEX. So, be careful.

Amex's algo for the "comfort zone" on their no limit accounts factors in a bunch of stuff. If you let other (non-amex) cards run up near limit or do anything else to adversely affect your credit worthiness they'll drop your limit without notification. One of the factors is a 6 month rolling average of your spend, so if you let the card cool off for awhile you'll have to pay them more frequently until the limit goes back up. None of the customer support reps will tell you what your comfort zone is (they say they aren't privvy to the information although one coughed it up once), but once you get assigned a personal rep they will be a lot more forthcoming with info on how you can spend more with them.

Damn... I guess I'll have to use the debit card then. Thanks for the info

The amex is still worth building up, just may not be an instant solution to your problems. If you have the cash to run your campaign on debit cards, just run it on amex but make the payments more frequently to stay below your limit. You can use their site to pay them as often as daily if you'd like.

When I opened a new business gold amex, I told them most of my spend was advertising. I explained I averaged 20-25k/mo, and asked if that was a prob. She told me that technically, no it wasn't an issue, but to start off she would suggest I pay some of the 20k down ahead of the actual bill. Then get a few months under my belt at that rate and I can grow the limit accordingly.

My only advice is if your using amex...you have a "back-up" source setup in your account.....they are notorious for over-zealous fraud protection as well...and often will put stops on payments....

just my 2 cents...
