Should You Run BOTH CPA and SmartCPM Campaigns in PropellerAds?

Hi Everyone,
I've been running some campaigns in Taiwan on PropellerAds using CPA campaign.

The a few days ago I also started using SmartCPM campaigns to get more traffic.
I did notice a big dip in PropellerAd CPA traffic and Profits around the same time I started the SmartCPM campaigns.

My worry is that the SmartCPM campaigns are interfering with the CPA campaigns.
Especially for a small GEO like Taiwan.

But it might just have been a fluke since this is the first time I've done this.
(the dip could have happened for any number of other reasons)

So I thought I'd ask ....

Does everyone else do both CPA and SmartCPM campaigns?
Or just one or the other?
Or do you only do both on bigger geos?

I will suggest you to ask Propeller guys if the sources for the SmartCPM are the same like the CPA.
My guess it that they are using different sources.

Starting Smart CPM campaigns can definitely have an impact on other bidding options within the same targeting group, but you would have to run significant volume. I mean, in case you just buy $20 worth of traffic, that shouldnt really have any big effect. Taiwan is still a 20mio GEO, so it's not like you were targeting Vatican

What kinda volumes have you been buying through the CPA model?

It would also be a good idea to ask your propeller rep about the available volumes for this GEO... maybe it's one their weak ones.

And what ezmobcom mentioned would be an option, but I don't have such info when it comes to propeller and their CPA bidding.

Thanks Everyone -
@ezmobcom - I'll get in touch with their support and see what they say.
@matuloo - I was running self serve and only getting about 4000 pop visits a day with about 10 conversions which were profitable. The SmartCPM got about 24,000 visits and about that time the CPA traffic dipped to 2000 visits and became unprofitable. Not a lot of volume for either and low conversions so was unsure if it was just a statistical anomaly or a real indication something was happening.

I did look at the zones being run on both, and there was some overlap but not much.

Anyway, I'll followup with support and my rep.

Ok, 20 or 30k pops really isnt a lot of volume, so it's quite likely that your 2 campaigns interfered with each other.

Would love to hear what the support has to say about possibly using different placements for CPA, please let us know in case you get some info about this from them.
