[Report] McKinsey & Company: The Business Value of Design
Thought design doesn't matter? Think again.
McKinsey & Company released a report last year on "The business value of design" that I just found:
How do the best design performers increase their revenues and shareholder returns at
nearly twice the rate of their industry counterparts?

We tracked the design practices of
300 publicly listed companies over a five-year period in multiple countries and industries. Their senior business and design leaders were interviewed or surveyed. Our team collected more than
two million pieces of financial data and recorded more than 100,000 design actions.1 Advanced regression analysis uncovered the 12 actions showing the greatest correlation with improved financial performance and clustered these actions into four broad themes.
It's not just about those stats and the copy. Well designed landers, emails, stores and sites/brands have always netted me higher ROIs than poorly designed ones and this report goes to show that good design really does matter and make a difference.
Added plus – it keeps your shareholders happier.

This is definitely one of the more overlooked aspects of website / emails / estores.
Design is about way more than making the content aesthetically pleasing.
Ease of readability, branding, impression of the company, good user experience in general - all of which can add up to massive impact on conversion rate.
Thanks for the share @shishev!
