Conversions Guaranteed But...
You can't smell the roses until you optimize your campaign.

1. Use a tracker although popunder traffic will produce tons of traffic, it is important to track everything in order to make an informative decision. Eg. Os type, Os version etc.
2. Don't limit your traffic to Popads (the pdf have other suggestions). I got all the info I need from Popads and moved on to other traffic sources.
3. -Analyzing my stats you can see that the 1st day was mostly looking for profitable geos. Result negative profits.
-2nd day was mildly optimize. Result almost break even.
-3rd day (today) was major optimization. Result 145% ROI

@vortex I have tried almost everything to track cost from Popads but no success at all. What token can I use? Thank you.

Great tips thank you very much for taking the time to contribute your insight!
Regarding the tracker though: Beware of overage charges if you're using a cloud-based tracker! Those can really cut into your profits.
Looking forward to seeing how big you can scale this!!

You can do that via the [BID] token:
Are you using
Voluum?
Unfortunately, costs are never accurate when posted back to the tracker (at least I haven't seen it - except Zeropark+
Voluum but that's only because they're the same company so have access to each other's data).
So be sure to always refer to PopAds stats for the actual spend. When I first started I was sometimes running campaigns I THOUGHT were profitable - which they were according to the tracker - but when I looked at the ACTUAL cost I was paying, found out I had been operating at a loss.
The difference can be as great as TWICE the number in the tracker for certain geos! So please be careful.

So it's normal to be unable to track costs in a tracker? How can we get around this?

There are several options:
1)We can update costs in the tracker manually. The overall campaign costs would be accurate. However, if you're bidding smart cpm / smart bid, then the cpm cost for each placement would be different - but in the tracker when you drill into placement stats you won't see accurate costs per placement, because the tracker would just assume all traffic to cost the same cpm.
The lack of accuracy may or may not be an issue depending on your needs.
2)In the tracker's campaign settings, specify the CPM cost (usually same as /similar to your bid). But due to clickloss, this will result in inaccurate total costs for the campaign. And of course the issue of having inaccurate costs for placement stats applies here as well.
3)Run on Zeropark and use the
Voluum tracker. Costs would be accurately reflected in the tracker because both are codewise campanies - so they have access to each other's data.
4)AFAIK, aside from zeropark+
Voluum, all other pop sources that pass costs to the tracker are not able to do it accurately. What I would often do is figure out the approximate percentage error between the actual total cost and the total cost passed to the tracker, and adjust the stats in ky head.
For example, if popads stats say I've spent $80 but Voluum says I've spent $40, then when I'm looking at placement stats on Voluum to decide which ones to cut, I would mentally multiply costs by 2.
This is inaccurate for sure, but for smaller placements I'd rather live with the inaccuracy than doing extra work to ensure accuracy - as described in the next option.
5)To get accurate placement costs, you can export placement costs from traffic source.
Then you can export placement stats from the tracker, which contains revenues.
Then you combine the 2 sets of data in a spreadsheet, so that you can see both revenue and cost data for each placement.
I've shared such a spreadsheet in the past - will edit this post later to add the link. (In bed now on mobile.)
These are basically all your options, and you can choose one or more to apply depending on how accurate you need to optimize, and how much trouble you're willing to go through for the extra accuracy.

There are lots of small details involved - but what I tend to do for pop camps is focus on the big stuff and not sweat the small stuff. Accuracy isn't half as important as efficiency when it comes to cutting placements - maybe except the big placements.
(I would still use stats calculators when split-testing OFFERS and LANDING PAGES though - because those things can make/break a campaign.)
Here's that spreadsheet I mentioned above (for combining placement cost and revenue data) just in case you need it:
