NYC Meetup -- Would you go? (7)
Hey everybody,
CPATrend is looking to do a STM NY meetup (nothing official or anything -- just a local meetup that we'll sponsor at a bar/lounge in NYC -- which would only be open to STM members). This would be obviously for STM members in NYC, or around NYC that could take the trip.
Basically, we're thinking open bar on us for a couple hours, and just a casual meetup where everybody chills, gets drunk, and talks biz.
I'd be looking to do this in late January, or early February. Please vote and let me know if you'd be interested in joining. What do you have to lose

not worth the drive, but if it was an a4d meetup thats a mini conf yea I'd go.
I'd do an a4d meetup that's a mini conference if I was Jason from a4d. That's not the case though (unfortunately... I wish I was him) -- so this would moreso just be a relaxed setting meetup at a bar for networking with other NY'ers (and tri-staters). It's obviously not going to be worth the trip for anybody who isn't relatively close to NYC, but it seems like there are quite a few people in the tri-state area here at STM, so this would cater to them.
Seeing as you're from central Pennsylvania, I think it's pretty evident it wouldn't be worth a 4-5 hour drive to get a few free drinks . This wont be a crazily organized event, just a couple hours of open bar if we can get enough interest that it would make sense to do.

there are some more people who are interested also. I live in Mid-town east in the 50's... lot of bars up here (traffic, turtle bay, sutton place, etc..) so I could definitely help talk to some bars if need be. Lemme know

. But yeah there's definitely tons of bars around there so it shouldn't be too hard to find a place. The only thing is I'd want it to be a more quiet type of place where people could speak and network, rather than just get shit-faced and not remember the night before, though there's always at least one person who does that (maybe it'll be me).
god how I hate driving to NYC and I want to get you guys up to foxwoods/mohegan.....and I keep harping on this...
Id be cool if we could do something midway between nyc and b-town....I am considering doing some kinda mini thing up here in the spring.....that way the guys from NY,CT,MA can all get together and chill....gamble a bit if you want to and stuff....
so not to hi-jack this thread but I could be up for that in Jan in NYC just would be weather dependent...
I would be down to do both... have something in NYC and up in Foxwoods/Mohegan... or even like a mastermind group who meets in NYC 2 a month or something
