I been running a certain single offer LP on taboola for a bit and more recently when I uploaded a new campaign same lander diff offer, they decided they do not like that all the links are going to 1 place. I have been running this specific style lander for a while now and just now they do not accept and says that news styles landers needs to be diversified, even with Advertorial at the top.
has anyone else ran into this issue with Taboola? because now most of my camps on taboola are now paused because of this. I have contacted them about this but they say they do not want anymore news style single offer pages and needs to be diversified.
@ianternet Still having this issue? Have you been running with them a while?
they are not a fan of the news style page they just want home to go to home and categories to go to an actual category page - I was thinking making a general domain and just putting things on there I guess. but it is a pain for sure to handle all that.
yea I have just a mini site now with literally 5 pages on them
Yeah, if you have any links that aren't directing where someone would rationally assume they should direct they'll definitely deny your ads and likely block your campaign pending it being fixed, at least in my experience.
You see this a lot in mortgage refi, where there will be a navigation bar at the top with navigation links saying stuff like "Mortgage News" and "Personal Finance" and other generic stuff like that that sounds 'official', but all those links go directly to the offer page.
Same with the site watermark or logo linking to the offer.
That shouldn't be a hard fix though, just get rid of any navigation links that don't where you'd think they go, and either have the site logo go to a generic homepage or just don't have it as a hyperlink at all.
But yeah, they're certainly always evolving on their compliance that is for sure!
There are some simple rules to follow:
- Links need to be active and lead to pages where the text achor suggests
- You can use color palets of other websited but claiming a branded name of a large news outlet will stop you in your tracks (ie. Fox, ...)
- You can badge advertorial to a fictional name, just don't use real names
- Testimonials on pages need to be backed up with something, so think about that before you submit your campaign
As long as you folow these, you should be fine.
