My journey in Push with low budget (33)
Hi Stackers,
So after over 1 month on STM I decide to write my first follow along.
I am starting with really low budget..its somewhere arround $500 + every month I can put in the game another let say $100 or little bit more.
I know that its maybe not good example for another newbies to start with such a low budget cause chances that I will burn it fast are high.
Whatever..I want start and dont procrastinate anymore. I am putting into game all what I can afford to lost so I am okay with that. And in affiliate marketing you can never lost money. You are buying data to learn. So thats my attitude to this business.
I will try keep this follow simple as is possible and write only important things. Well so lets go.
Here is my list:
Geo: CZ
Traffic source: Propeller Ads
Affiliate network: Aragon Advertising, Affsub2
Vertical: Sweepstakes
Offer: iPhone Xs PIN Submit/PPC - payout $2.008/$3.6 per lead
Tracker:
VPS: Digital Ocean (got $100 coupon cause I am buy through
DNS provider: NameCheap
VPN: ExpressVPN
Spy tool: Adplexity Push (Still free), SpyPush
My strategy
I was applied to many affiliate networks to have access to best offers for my geo. But one offer according to my adplexity spying was converting very good for my geo. More advertisers was pushing it very hard. Finally I was able found it on Aragon Advertising.
From thoose advertisers which received most traffic with this offer I was rip LPs and Ads. Especially it was only one LP with theme of postal service survey. Every ad which received most traffic was running this one LP.
I send this LP to @eurosen to clean and optimize to speed (Great work). Also I improved few details on LP and Ad.
So I have one simple funnel: 1 LP + 1 Ad + 1 offer.
I know that this is not enough. Best will be if I can have more LPs, Ads and offers and start multiple campaigns. But I need start somewhere and if I will have good results with this simple campaign I can scale. If I can have bigger budget sure I will start with more campaigns.
First traffic source what I will try is propeller ads cause again according to adplexity spying it looking be best traffic source for this offer and geo.
Budget for first testing campaign is $41,60. Its come out from simple calculation - payout of offer x 20.
$2,008 x 20 = $41,60.
Daily budget was minimum $10.
Here are results from testing after 4 days
Its not reached full amount of budget cause there was some problems with propellers new feature. My campaigns was paused every time when reached specific amount of impressions. Support told me that after pausing it will be running again automatically but it was not true all time. Also my set up of timing pushs was not so good. Anyway..we got some results.
Total revenue: $29.12
Total cost: $36.40
Profit: - $7.28 (-20% ROI)
What next?
In meantime when I was running this my first simple campaign I find same offer on another affiliate network with higher payout - $3.6.
If I will start with this offer firstly my ROI will be positive. Thats good sign for me.
Now I want create new campaign with same LP, more Ads sets and with same offer with higher payout from another affiliate network.
If it will got positive ROI I will scale it to more campaigns and try make it more profitable and also create blacklist for low converting zones.
Also I want create more campaigns with same LP + find another good converting LPs and run it with good CC submits with higher payout and focus also on SK geo together with CZ.
Hey guys I am literally noob in this game so I try learn fast as is possible and keep it simple as is possible within my budget limitations.
I will be very grateful if you can give me advices about my mistakes and about what next steps I can do.

Nevertheless, looks like it turned out well for you and you got some nice results there!
-20% for first campaign as a newbie is amazing result!
You also got many conversions, which is good, you can check your reports and see if you can cut some unprofitable zone IDs.
I would be pretty aggressive there with this offer and cut everything that spent 1-2x of your payout.
Looks like you have a good lander there, but I recommend you to add more landing pages, at minimum is good to have at least 2-3, so you can actually split testing different angles.
I'm also curious to see if that new offer with the higher payout will work better.
Anyway, keep it up, looks like good start to me!

I was read in one thread about push here on STM that if you want got statistical significance then you need count your payout x 20 for testing budget for one offer.
But maybe I messed something. Anyway full budget for testing this offer will be arround $100.

Your approach looks very good how you did research and checked for promising funnels.
You didn´t just blindly started running random stuff hoping for success but you tried to eliminate the non promising combinations from the very beginning.

I was planning write update at saturday because my campaign for initial testing ends tomorrow.
But I got good results after I start running higher payout offer.
Here are stats from my tracker from last 14 days:
That last campaign is that what I was writing about at the beginning.
Honestly I was running this testing without making any big changes or blacklisting.
I was testing more adsets but this campaign was focused mostly on testing offer potential.
Tomorrow I have one day more to running and after that I want analyze data, create blacklist and start testing more LPs and angles.
Maybe I should start already testing more LPs and angles in this campaign but I will do that in another campaigns for this offer.
So theese results are with that same LP!
But today I realize one my mistake. Tracking off conversions was doesnt send to traffic source so now I cant find out which zones was best converting.
Or is some another way how to find out that? Or I should review zones based on another parameter?
Anyway Erik, I will very appreciate your suggestions to scaling and optimalization this campaign.
From my point of view this campaign have good potential to scale.
What is your opinion?
Here are stats from today:
I was targeting only high and medium user activity.
Propeller have good and stable traffic for push but their new feature for cpc making me angry.
Campaign is paused after some amount of impressions and it start running again on day after.
Even when I have budget for one day $30 then campaign was paused after $10 spend.
So I considering another traffic source or start running on CPM with good blacklist.

Wow, you told me that you are a total newbie? You got some pretty decent results there! I'm really impressed, congrats!!!
OK, so the issue you experience with campaign pausing is due to Propeller's algorithm if you run CPC.
Push has delayed clicks and this pausing prevents your from being overcharged, so that is a good thing as they try to protect you.
However, it slows down your traffic delivery.
There are 2 solutions to this issue:
1) Raise your daily budget, it will pause anyway, but should prolong the "run" time.
2) Start campaign as CPM <- but here I have to tell you to be very careful as you will be paying for every impression instead of clicks, so the key here is to have high CTR creative and ideally also apply your blacklist from your previous campaign, especially you need to cut low CTR zones.
Regarding LP, honestly I think you have a solid one now, the ROI is super healthy, 80% is great IMHO.
Or is some another way how to find out that? Or I should review zones based on another parameter?
But if you sent it to your tracker, then you just load the report for the zoneid token and you should see which zones converted.
As for scaling you can scale to more geos (does this advertiser have offers in another geos?) or to more traffic sources in the same geo. The ultimate will be to scale across traffic sources x geos.

Its little bit surprise for me that it turn to such a good ROI in my first campaign.
But I need work hard now, optimize and scale.
So hope that I will be able to keep good ROI and also make some good profits.
Finally great explanation of this propellers CPC feature.
Yes essentially its good thing but in my case with minumum budget its little bit annoying
But quality of traffic is great. Even though I run incent ads and this type of ads are not allowed on this offer my quality was approved by advertiser.
I am now considering CPM but honestly I think CPC will be better to run for now. So propably I should wait with CPM.
Yes LP is very good..everybody who is doing good with this offer is running this LP.
But I will start testing another ones. Its not possible run long time on push and making good ROI with one same LP.
It would be good to come with new angles and create new LPs or innovate that which is converting good.
Okay I will try find data about zones because it looks that it was not sended to tracker.
But as you write it shouldnt be problem to find that.
Advertiser have offers of this type only for CZ geo. There is only one iPhone Xs offer and one Samsung S10 which I want test also.
Would be very good if this type of offers will be also on SK geo..I think it will converts good on SK.
So now I will try run this offer on another traffic sources firstly and also try find some ultimate way to scaling

As you see I got nice results in terms of ROI with this one simple campaign.
I know its only first one campaign and I dont want make big thing from it but anyway I am happy about that.
Honestly I dont expect it. Its surprising for me and its great motivation.
But as you know from my thread I have little bit problem to scale on this campaign because of my limited budget.
I have also nice scaling plane to another traffic sources, geos and offers.
I want scale push + sweeps on at least 10 geos. I mean thats only way how to keep profitable campaigns on such a dynamic kind of traffic as push is.
For every campaign you need solid LPs and Ads rotation. From my point of view that is one of the keys how to keep campaign profitable longer.
But main is to have possibility run great offer on particular geo. Better say find best converting offer for that geo. Yes its common info but is very important keep it in mind.
Of course there are many more things to say about how to play this game and have success. I am also only on very start and need learn so much things already.
I dont want teach you anything after over 1 month on STM. Thats not possible. I want you to know that I understand the basics of this game and business.
What I want say with this? I want give you opportunity to help me with scaling my campaign.

Just small update
So what is happening now?
My campaign is paused but dont worry buddy all is okay and on the way to even better results. Its still learning process for me and I would rather do things properly and wait instead of making stupid mistakes.
I am waiting for first payment from affiliate network, they have 14 days payout period. Its so much long time for newbie to get paid but what we can do. At start this network was only one where I can get offer what I run with good payout.
But now I find another network with weekly payments and this same offer with even higher payout - $3.85. Also they have so much great sweeps offers in another geos.
I realize that for newbie as me with low budget is not possible run long term campaigns with 14 days payout period. So thats the main reason why I am decide to switch to another affiliate network with weekly payments.
In few days I will start running campaign with them and I am curious how it will going.
Plane is to let run same campaign but put daily into traffic at least $30. I believe that I will get good results and also better profit.

So after 3 weeks I have update on my follow along.
I find great partner for my business and we start going in bigger way.
Offer and geo stay same but my partner can find advertizer of this offer and add it to his network.
So we got better payout and maybe we will go on revshare.
We try another sources so with propeller it was megapush and also zeropark.
Unfortunately we are in loss now but you know how its going..once you hit profitable campaign whole loss can completely turn into profit.
Now we are trying optimize, improve plans for campaigns and also deepen cooperation with advertizer because he have lot of sweep offers on another geos.
Next geo will be ES but we will go also on another geos.
So shortly this is update. I dont want explaine too much in this phase but soon I will put more details.
I am still in tryhard mode so I am sure that we will be profitable very soon!

I've seen a lot of follow-alongs end abruptly.
Some are because the OP has given up and left. Others are because the OP has succeeded and no longer has time to update - since they know what they're doing and don't feel the need to receive further feedback.
For this thread, based on the OP's last post, it sounds like the latter situation. I wish them all the best - and that they would come back to update us on progress sometime in the future (which DOES happen!)

Hi guys,
I know it's been a long time since my last post and nobody cares already but I feel that I owe you at least some explanation for not updating.
It was a great journey where I learned so many things but at the end of the day, that was all that I earned.
My cooperation with my partner doesn't go so well and I feel that I was a bit scammed.
But yes, I learned so many things which would cost me thousands of dollars to do on my own.
I even started working with other guys as partners on the budget but I do not feel motivated to run push campaigns anymore.
I don't want to go into details but I just want to let you know that I don't bank on this and just disappear.
So I decided to stop running push traffic and sweeps. This was only my personal decision and I am sure that many people are doing good on push traffic.
Anyway sometimes at the end of the last year I started feeling that I need to move towards the WH approach and work with other traffic sources.
So I decided on FB and WH e-commerce CPA offers and also insurance lead gen. (Yes, many people now are moving to FB and WH e-commerce or lead gen)
I tried some first tests on FB with good results but there is yet so much space for learning.
I think it's much harder to master FB traffic especially when I am still like 1 year in AM.
But it's a challenge and it's making much more sense for me in the long term.
Hopefully I will start a new follow along on my journey in the near time.
Amy's FB beginner tutorial is really a masterpiece and its foundation for my learning.
