Imgur has gone cattywhompus!

Just a heads up about imgur if you've been using them to display images here and elsewhere.

Apparently they've changed their link format - it's no longer possible to display images by pasting their bbcode link into a post.

I'm sure they'll figure it out and change it back in due time, but in the meantime, here's a quick fix I'm using, that I want to share.

1)Upload image to imgur and grab the bbcode link as usual. It will be in this format:



2)Manually change the link format to this (by adding the "i." and ".png"):



...then post the modified link into a forum post and the image should display successfully!

If anyone finds a more convenient way than this, please let me know!

Oh I didn't know you can link imgur images like that lol. I have always used the direct link one (.png one).

Oh I wasn't linking anything - before today we could just post the bbcode link in here. But today their link changed (to the onr without the .png) and it no longer worked.

Hopefully they'll fix this soon!

It's easier to open the image in a new tab (no need to add i. and .png) and just wrap it with [img] or use the Insert Image icon, it's what I've always done too.

Have you tried this yesterday/today? Cause the link format has changed.

Yep, what I was saying is that it wouldn't matter what the official link format is if you just get the direct link to the image and then just wrap it around img tags either manually or with the insert image icon > paste URL. I.e. you would always get i.imgur.com/imagename.png

Also it seems they've fixed the bbcode versions now to include the direct link.

Checked some of my threads, fortunately looks like I was always using the file type in the link, so everything just works fine.
