[Newbie] Freelancing

Hi Awesome people,

I always had interest to be successful in Affiliate Marketing, but my biggest stumbling block is having a budget. I kept on seeing a case study of a broker or a 17 year old kid cracking it at this game.
But, a further dive into their story. I realise they all started as a freelancer to bankroll their affiliate marketing conquest.

My question is what freelance option is the best there is ? Should I start becoming a graphic designer or what's the best option out there ?
Many Thanks for your input.

Hi @noobmaster69! Thanks for quoting that post - I put a piece of my heart and soul into it when I wrote it.

The best way to do some exploring would be to just sign up to some freelance sites - such as upwork.com - and just browse through the different job categories and go from there.

Here's a list of freelancing sites:

https://www.ryrob.com/freelance-jobs/

Figure out what types of skills you have and how much you could be making with each skill. Then build your profile accordingly.

After that, start actively browsing tasks and applying for them. In the beginning it can be tough to get jobs without a solid track record of reviews on tasks you've done on a specific platform, but the more jobs you apply to the better your chances.

Also important: Check messages often and respond to "pre-sale queries" quickly and thoroughly.

And although this may sound cliche, a sincere and eager attitude, coupled with reasonable prices and being able to talk intelligently about the task you're being interviewed for, can really improve your chances of getting hired.

And of course, actually being able to complete the job with satisfaction is of utmost importance as well, and will directly determine the odds of getting repeat business.

As for any other business, it can be tough in the beginning. But once you have a few steady clients (sometimes just one steady client would be enough) and some good reviews you'll be all set.

In the meantime, this would be the perfect time to run some test campaigns to learn the ropes - so that by the time you have more funds available, you'll have the experience required to put them to good use (by running bigger campaigns at scale).

Best wishes with your endeavors! And please come back to update us on how you get on.

You'd likely need to build a good-sized following in the respective niche.

Either that, or the commissions should be high enough for you to be able to afford to run it as a youtube ad.

Are you good at making product sales videos? There are tons of ecom store owners looking for those on a regular basis, and all the services I know are charging an arm+leg for them (300-500-1k+). If you could figure out how to make videos from a mix of product images and maybe yourself reviewing and demonstrating the product in person, and be able to do them quickly to justify charging competitively, I bet you could set up a service and get lots of business.

If you do choose to go this way please let me know - may be able to steer some business your way.

@vortex - Many thanks for your advice! I don't know how to do it just yet! But, I can learn and start savings.

I read somewhere that one mention that they rather to be grinding than doing Affiliate Marketing with low budget.
I will do the same!

Definitely a good idea! When your budget is too restricted, you can't really test enough, plus you'll be so scared to lose money that you won't be able to make rational campaign decisions.

Best of luck and have fun!
