CBO campaigns

Hi guys,

We're running ecom in cbo campaign and wonder if you'd make an A/B test on creatives inside the cbo or test it in non-cbo first and only split the adsets inside the cbo?

You should test both and go with the best performing option.

I usually have my creatives tested in non-CBO campaigns to ensure the full budget amount is allocated and utilised per creative / adset. After that, the best performing creative and adset is migrated onto its own CBO campaign.

What would you test inside the CBO? (interests, age, gender, etc'...)

I would suggest to test in CBO with min spend limit. I found this is more and more efficient as FB is giving more favour to CBO. Anyway, CBO will be mandatory in Sep 2019...We all need to get along with it.

FaceOnAsia definitely knows what he is talking about when it comes to Facebook.

Interesting, wonder if the purge is happening already as CBO is getting favoured traffic first to push people to use it? Noticing a decline on traffic quality when not using it just recently and lots of others seeing similar.

Just an update on CBO deadline from FB: you can still use adset budget until early 2020. However, if you have already shift all your campaigns to CBO, you will only get CBO from Sep 2019. Not bad! Headache only after Christmas! LOL

CBO For me (and most people I know) is really inconsistent so it's important to use rules if using high budgets.

I only ever add adsets on CBO's that have been performing well on non CBO campaigns.

Important to ensure you have at least 2 or 3 ads in each adset and would definitely recommend duplicating each adset at least once (on CBO)

*Rational being that each will go into a different auction pool, some will perform bad and the others will do amazing, so having the rules will ensure that your bad adsets / ads will get turned off allowing the other adsets that are performing well to get all the budget.

Turn the adsets back on after midnight - ads too if you had rules to turn them individually off.

After a few days kill the ones that performed bad everyday and dup the ones doing well.

- I have been using CBO a lot, but I hope they don't change my account till 2020 as for it's not ready yet.

P.S. this is what I do on my accounts.

I have been doing FB for just shy of 5 years and done a course here and there from people like Depesh, but whenever I feel like I know what I'm doing FB gets all bitchy and puts me back in my place
