Express is good, HMA Pro is even better.

Are you sure about HMA?

Cause I read some bad things what happen them in past.

Also now they are not considered to be one of the best.

HMA has issues as they were storing peoples internet logs for up to 2 years, which defeats the point of a VPN (partially).
Privat vpn and torguard are good, (i use the latter)
depends what you want it for. If you are going to go down the manual spying route you will need some dedicated IPs.

Express is my personal go to, mainly because it works well with Netflix

For what purpose? Spying on campaigns or just privacy in general?

PIA vpn is good, but doesn't have every big country to choose from.

For phones google FI services offers a free VPN.

HMA wins with the amount of geos (if its for spying, though good cloakers will detect them easily).

For personal use I still also like to use VyprVPN.

I've tried PIA, Nord, Vyper, and TorGuard and im currently using Nord however my honest favorite was TorGuard by far. I'm just to lazy to cancel the nord subscription and switch back lol.

I have used quite a few over the years... I used VyprVPN for some time but after a while the time-to-connect got super slow and it annoyed me, so I switched to ExpressVPN.

It really depends on you -- and where you are in the world. Some VPN provider might be great for Joe in New York but terrible for Jane in Indonesia due to the lack of close servers with decent bandwidth/latency.

IMO, you should trial a few and fine one that for you connects quickly and gives you decent latency/bandwidth. If you can't connect to a VPN server with <50 ms latency to you and that limits your bandwidth significantly (e.g. 100 Mbps line > you drop to 20 Mbps in speed tests), then the VPN is probably going to slow down browsing and affect productivity.

You can also consider a dedicated server running OpenVPN. This can be ideal if all you want is a reliable privacy tunnel, no logs, solid speeds and so on. You can just get a $5 server from DigitalOcean, Vultr etc. and run OpenVPN on it yourself and use it as your personal VPN. I am in Bangkok and I tried this with DigitalOcean + Singapore server and it worked great. Solid connectivity from TH > SG and the DigitalOcean connectivity internationally was then very reliable, so I could max out my bandwidth more reliably. But, takes a bit more tech work, and you then are not able to switch VPN locations for testing things.

TL;DR:
test a few and figure out what works well for you. Most of them have trials so you don't need to make a blind choice here.

interesting to try with OpenVPN. I am finding that unless you use a dedicated IP a lot of the time it is diffcult to manually spy. Any recommendations there? i.e Germany for example, most VPNs seem to be flagged by traffic sources so you just see generic offers.

Amazing guys thank you for your advices.

Appreciate it!

NordVPN is one of the best, and it's really cheap, sometimes you can get a promotion with them. Also for which things are you gonna use this VPN, sometimes like for example some specific sensitive one things it's better to buy private proxy by your own, you'll be 100% sure that is clean.

I use Nord VPN and I am very happy with it.

I am using Express VPN for over a year now and quite happy with them.

I'm still using HMA quite frequently and it does the job in most cases, but yeah, some networks do detect it.

^^^ This is also good site for those who seek privacy: https://www.privacytools.io/

Lot of alternatives for VPNs, browsers and many other software.

Btw after couple of guys above recommended ExpressVPN I give it a try as my VyprVPN is about to expire next month.

I have to say I'm pretty impressed by the speed + also the connection is almost instant (took really long with VyprVPN, especially on desktop)

This is a great thread. For the past 1.5 months, I've been planning to replace Pure VPN because I often can't view the offers on certain geos.

Express still doing great for me, amongst others. Being able to watch international Netflix is a decent perk.

Something to watch out for when comparing VPNs is banners with clouds on. I know it sounds weird, but google ads will show you banners with clouds when your IP isn’t trusted, or the site isn’t brand safe. Keep a look out, it’s quite common!

Am a bit desperate. Have tried Express VPN and HMA now. Both don't work for showing the offer for the networks I have used (Mobidea, Yepads and Cpamatica) although wifi traffic was allowed Got 404 and proxy detection message for sites in ZA and TH.

Are there any other ways or am I doing anything wrong?

Have changed DNS, cleared cache and even cleaned up the mac OS cache via terminal and rebooted (recommendations from ExpressVPN). Also checked for WebRtc and DNS leakage.

Is any of you guys able to reach offer links with a VPN? If so what do you use in 2020?

I rarely bother checking the offer pages. The screenshot provided by the networks is usually enough.

But ExpressVPN works well enough when I do use it. Remember, you’ll also need to change your user agent and browser to match the offer, you can do that with a chrome extension. Even then, if it’s a 3G offer, you’ll never see it without expensive magic.

9/10 it’s not worth the time.

04-17-2020 05:10 PM #23 larsometer (Senior Member)

Thank you. The user agent I have not tried. Checking offer was one thing. Other things was the some AM gave me links to good landers for the offer. But couldn't access those either :-( Well I hope I get my money back within the 30 day trials. --> MORE money to invest in testing then.

@larsometer VyprVPN have a modified version openVPN protocol, by default the protocol is set to IKEv2, switch it to Chameleon ( https://prnt.sc/s2fmiy . This prevents some services to detect it is VPN but not all, as an example netflix and a bunch of other services are detecting it.

Another big plus is you do not need to know how to setup OpenVPN to setup your own server , they have one liner command for linux where you configure your own server and it pops in their software for you to connect to. They have $60 for 2 years promo now and I think they have 30 or so no questions asked refund.Even if it does not work all the time for that price it is pretty nice option and for privacy that chameleon protocol is awesome.
