Scaling from push traffic to other sources
Hey guys,
I've got a nice campaign, doing mid $XXX - low $X,XXX per day on push traffic. I'm running it in multiple GEOs and on multiple push traffic networks.
Push traffic seems to be really unstable and I think it's matter of time before it gets hit with regulations. So I'm looking for option to port it to other traffic types. What would you recommend to test next? Pops, or maybe native? It's CPS offer with payouts between $10 - $50.
Any advice would be appreciated greatly

Hey!
It’s very good that you’re doing this profit with Push! I’m not sure that Push is unstable. Just try to add more creatives, and things will be good!
As for scaling, did you already try your campaign with other Push sources? There are many sources at the moment with good traffic, so you can easy run your camp in 10 different sources. It will be already nice scaling!
As for CPS offers I’m not sure it will work with POP, but if it’s adult product, you can try. But I would not wait super high ROI.
I recommend to try Native at 1st, because Push is very close to Native (they both have Image+text). In these cases I just crop my image from Push and use same text. It works good! But be ready that in some GEOs you will need to try a bit more creatives. For me it’s a bit hard to make my creative work in Native and send me many clicks.
You can also try Display traffic, but it also depends on which product do you have.

Native might be the closest format to push, however the way these 2 formats are delivered is very different.
Push is unique format, it's more personal, delivered directly to people's device, they doesn't have to browse the web.
The way you talk to people on push may be different you will need to talk on native or other formats.
Each ad format has their specifics and needs time and efforts to crack them.
You might try to port your ads to different traffic types, but it may require different approaches.
There is still many thing you can do with push though:
- scale to even more traffic sources
- scale to more geos
- try new verticals?
- try retargeting your audience with pop/display
The job is never done here

I think SMS is closest to push traffic, but SMS has in general a far better open rate/CTR. The difference with Native, FB, Display etc is mainly they are PULL traffic sources, so you reallllyy need to stand out from the rest with headlines/images since people see multiple ads in one session often.
But yeah, if the funnel works on push, it will probably work on several other sources. Why not use same funnel, same geo's, but other similar campaigns?

Thank all of you guys for valuable input. I'm definitely going to scale it to more push traffic sources and I'm looking into retargeting (no experience with it so far). And I think I will start doing smaller tests on Native soon

Hi Mate
**How do you scale up an active campaign (using same setting and same push source)
from my short experience with push - it doesn't work like fb = double/triple the budget and Conversion will double/triple relatively
so what's the trick with Push ?
** how do you overcome the high frequency ads changes needed (every 3-8 - depends who you ask

) ?
So even if i found a good campaign, after few days i will need to change the creatives...
insights are welcome

Some excellent advice has been offered. I just want to add another perspective: It may be wise to focus all your effort on push while it's doing so well for you, to milk it as much as possible while it's still going strong.
That way, when the momentum starts to wane, you have a pile of cash to explore other options to go into.
However, that's just one perspective. It is true that psychologically speaking, it's hard to spend money learning a new traffic type when you no longer have money coming in.
So there needs to be a balance.

This is true.

Exactly. I've been in this situation this year and it was really stressful. That's the reason, why I'm looking for the option to not to have "all eggs in one basket".

Pops works for CPS offer, but depends on traffic quality.

Kind of depends on the offer, If it's sweeps i would tell you definitely try Pop next, Leads work pretty well with this type of traffic. But the longer CPA offers, like nutra, maybe go for FB or Adwords. In the end, you need to have targeted audience for these type of offers.
So it really depends on the offer you are running
