Hi
Regarding using
Need some advice regarding blocking widgets and sites.
At the moment I have been using auto rule to block any widgets with 1000 impressions and no visits.
Blocking any widgets with 20 visits and less than 5% Lander CTR.
Then blocking any sites that spend 2x payout with no conversions.
But not sure if this is correct way to do it as some widgets are on more than one site, so maybe I should be blocking widgets only on a per site basis.
What rules is anyone else using or can advise on?
Thanks
Hey @bluewax,
One person will tell you 1000 impressions is definitely not enough and another will tell you it's more than enough. I find it hard to advise when I don't know what you are targeting, what the volumes are, so I'll try to give you quite a general piece of advice: go as much granular as possible: check 3 dimensions: sites->widgets->Browsers/OS (or any other dimension). Widgets with 20 visits and less than 5% lander CTR can still be profitable with certain OS or browser version/region/hour of day etc. Remember that automation will not do job 100% - it will help a lot but the optimization always requires "a human touch". Always feel free to ping me or your AM for some insights on your traffic.
On a final note, we'd usually advise to launch the auto-rules once you, having analyzed the reports, know the traffic and the volumes and not from the very start of the testing period.
Thx and fingers crossed for your success!
Thanks @justyna
I understand it's difficult to answer, but just looking for a general rule of thumb.
