From Case Study to (Hopefully) Future Success in Creating a Push Database!

Hey everyone,

Following in the footsteps of the amazing @xesturgy who went through the trouble of writing such a detailed tutorial, I figured that I (along with many of you I'm sure) will try to replicate that success.

A little about me - I'm brand spanking new at AM. I've founded a digital marketing agency about 8 years ago, and have been running significant amount of traffic through both SEO and paid campaigns for our clients. We work with anything from medium sized businesses to Fortune500 companies worldwide. The above is the reason I have experience in optimizing large budget FB/Google Ads campaigns, but I've never been part of the affiliate/blackhat world so I'm mostly trying to figure stuff out as I go along.

I'll also use this opportunity to say thank you to Karolina (@Voluum) who's helped my onboarding process a lot on their platform as well as helped tie up some loose ends I've had in terms of tracking. She even added me to an existing special offering Voluum had for STM members AFTER I've already signed up and paid. Can't get better service than that!

My goal is to start out by reaching XX$ / Day consistently. Once that's done, I'll be looking to put in a real budget in order to capitalize on my new status as a "Push beginner+".

On to what we all care about:

In terms of setting up, it took me about 48 hours start to finish to get my Hosting, Domains, Voluum, Advertizer, OneSignal, Spy app, "please confirm you're not a robot" type landing page(s) and tracking all set up and hooked up. There's not much to expand on here I guess, but if anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

On the landing page side I've incorporated a back blocker, and full screen on click/keystroke (am I missing any other tactics to convert?) and I'm running the traffic through 3 landers each connected to a different OneSignal account so that if I can add folks to (hopefully) 3 lists that they'll have to unsubscribe from.

On the off chance that I'm actually successful, I'll refrain from saying exactly which country I'm buying Advertizer traffic from. For anyone wonder, since xesturgy's post it appears CPA prices have nearly tripled for T1 countries. I will say it's a French speaking country though.

I do not yet have an affiliate offer I'd be sending my push minions to yet, I just got approved on MaxBounty so I'll try finding something there. That's the part I'm a bit in the dark about so any tips regarding a choice of a solid offer would be most welcome.

My Advertizer has been running for about an hour now.

Current Stats:
Impressions: ~1200
Push signups: 12

I'd be happy to hear from others what kind of conversion rates they're expecting.

My current plan is to ramp my subs to around 10K before starting to run different offers to see what converts best.

Happy to be sharing the journey!

Update - it's been a full 24h later.

My main issue is that the volume of opt ins seems very low.

I'm at roughly 15K impressions, with a little under 70 subs. I barely managed to spend $10 on Advertizer.

Would be happy to hear some advice as to how come it's so low/slow.

Thanks!

Hey!

Couple of ideas:
- raise your CPA?
- kill placements with low CR so the impression flow is more focused on good zones?
- clone campaings?

Hope @xeturgy will chime in with his ideas.

Thanks Erik!

I've just realized there have been a few sources that were responsible for about 10K visitors, but have not converted at all. I killed those off now.

I'll wait another 24H and re-assess.
