Hi, I've made campaign for weight loss COD product, I am using MGID and totally newbie in this,I've read a lot about CPA and take courses, but still practical work is different than reading, I've created 5 campaigns, with different angles, 3 teasers and 1 lander for each angle, lunched my first campaign spent 200$ on testing and get 3 conversions,2 approved and 1 rejected, stopped some ads that didn't get good stats, now I am only focusing on 1 angle that's show best stats overall, and white listed only 3 widgets that get me conversions, but faced a problem with low traffic, near to 0, I've tried with higher CPC and coefficient but didn't solve the problem, so I've added new 6 widgets white listed, widgets that have highest CTA clicks.
I want to get optimized traffic that converts as much as possible, I appreciate any advice from u guys.
Better putting this in the native subthread bro you'll get some more native pro eyeballs there
Moving the thread into the native section to get you more exposure
Native isn't the easiest traffic type to start with. It requires quite some budget to test enough widgets and find the well performing ones, as you have experienced yourself already.
Many people start by using whitelists provided by their reps at any given traffic source, did you try to ask your MGID AM to give you a whitelist for your vertical, that might help at the start.
You will also need to test plenty of ads and LPs/funnels to find something that's going to work. Not all offers are created equal either, prepare to test a few to find a winner.
You're just at the beginning and barely scratched the surface so to speak. It would help if you could provide more details on what you tried already, what type of LPs, what was the vertical etc ... we have some very experienced native guys on the forum, but they will need more details to be able to help you out.
Hey mhmdgh,
First of all, $200 spend with only 2 approved COD conversions is pretty brutal... Considering the payout ranges for COD which are usually around $8 - $25 depending on the country
My guess is; You're either bidding way too high (keep in mind that mgid's bids are fixed, so it's pretty easy to overpay for clicks), you're testing to many variables, your offer is simply bad or all of the above....
I want to add that testing 5 different angles on a limited budget with little experience is way to many variables in my opinion.
In mgid, just like on any other native platform there are a lot of moving parts as it is, and adding too much on top just increases the amount of variables you will need to test and keep track of.
Even putting budgets aside, having so much to keep track of can easily overwhelm a newbie.
I've been running campaigns full time for over 3 years now (2 out of which include native) and even I try to test as little variables as possible when it comes to a new vertical / traffic source.
I would recommend to run no more than 6 ads, 2 landers and 2 offer variations before you get more comfortable with the offer/traffic source.
Try to find the winning combination out of these, and once things performance starts to look better gradually add more variables to compete with the exciting ones.
This will likely take longer to find the absolute top performing flow, however it will be much more cost efficient and you will have less moving parts making it easier for you to keep track of data.
Concerning widget optimization, in my experience WL does not work very well on mgid.
Instead of finding a few converting widgets which can drive high volumes of traffic, you are more likely to find a lot of converting widgets, each driving low volumes of traffic.
To compensate for that, i would suggest making good use of the coefficient system.
Try running teasers on average or even slightly below average bids, while increasing / decreasing coefficients on performing / non performing widgets.
You can always gradually increase your teaser bids as your overall campaign performance increases
Using a third party optimization tool such as theoptimizer.io will make it easier for you
Finally, don't forget to build up your blacklists which will definitely help you in the long run, especially for future campaigns.
Good luck
