Meme's = Profit

Juts a quick tip folks one that def can be exploited on a lot of dif traffic sources..with the added bonus of being entertaining....

Meme's

One of the best things about meme's is they sell themselves and people (if you target correctly) identify with them immediately..

so what does that mean to you...your ad becomes less of a ad and more like content....which can drive some pretty high ctrs if done right.....

Now...this still requires that you be creative with them and such angle wise....as to what to put on the back end....and how to pitch it.....

but what the meme can do is get people engaged in your ads/lp....and thats the first step towards getting a conversion...

some things that can work well with meme's....

mobile
email/zip subs
co-reg
downloads/games
content locking

another way to use meme's is to keep a eye on trends and the like.....as its true viral content.....and it generates a ton of traffic...just by the nature of people sharing....

some of the other added bonuses of a meme, its like celeb image with out being a celeb....most cases meaning no one really owns rights to them....so the chance of you having issues with your lps...is far less....

so unless you

get cracking.....so your traffic stats can look like this

seriously folks.....lotta money to be made here just need to get creative....

here is something to get you started on your journey

Polar,

Good ideas there.. Would you suggest using this idea in the place of "poll style" PPV landers?

"would you take an arrow to the knee for chick Norris?
"yes, no, prefer a kick to the face"
"vote now to win an iPad 2"

What other ways would you go about implementing this?

yes they can work great for polls....but its not not just about using them for lp's.....banners can work well too....

take "steve buscemi eyes" for instance

making banners from that could do real well...as people can associate with it on a few dif levels (meme stand point as well as justin bieber)and the images stand out....that meme can be used across a ton of dif photos...and on a bunch of dif camps....just need to get creative with it and test

Sorry to be a newbie here , but what is a meme exactly? Also how do you download them to be used as a lander?

Lol that bieber pic looks foul. Great ideas in terms of using the poll. Some has gotta try a pedobear campaign, or a forever alone dating campaign haha.

Only down side I see with using memes is that you are targeting a web savvy crowd. A lot more skeptical than your usual people.

Agreed, I don't know much about Meme's myself, and whilst they are popular amongst a certain niche, they're definitely something that appeals to nerdy/geeky/web-savvy type characters who are much much more aware of scammy type stuff and tend to be massive skeptics/the type to sign up to offers with a fake email address (like myself).

(Just had a bunch of leads retracted over at w4 for a dating offer that I was promoting on POF.. apparently a handful of them were invalid.. w4 tend to be very strict)

You'd really have to spin this into something that's less CPA style.. perhaps a geeky product/service that pays commissions.. clickbank comes to mind.. ideas?

hmmmm...kinda surprised....that people are thinking so 1 dimensional on this....that to use a meme(or certain aspects of it) I need to target the people of 4chan....

for instance....Cinemagraphs (which started as a meme)

do you think that only applies to tech/savy geeky people?

Like what are the ways you could use this technique in marketing?

any ideas?

anyone?

hopefully you see what I am trying to say about using meme's...often just using key aspects of it, sometimes even just the reason it appeals to people....to make a profit....

if not...

well I tried.... :P

Can you give an example of using a meme? I am not understanding how we get these to use them in our marketing.

Photoshop can import video files and turn it into a gif for you..

You just need quicktime installed and you're set..

You go to File->Import->Video Frames to Layers

Lately I've seen a lot of mems used on fb. The 'here's a three-legged kitten. Click if you think this is wrong' kinda thing with a gazillion 'likes'. How are people monetizing this? Any ideas guys?

Great thread, missed out on this until now

This is some CTR gold. Meme's are becoming mainstream now. Even to the non-internet savvy. Just for example i see tons of people on my facebook sharing cat meme's etc... and the majority of these people rarely use their computers for anything other than social networking. That baby one is great
