Convincing people to buy online courses - any tips?

Hello all, I'm looking for ideas on getting people to enroll in an online course (such as learning an instrument, a new skill, and the like).

Usually, online courses require time and efforts; it's not that kind of offer you buy for a whim.

Do you have some suggestion? Thank you very much!

Yes, for mid to high range priced courses, you would definitely have to create a well thought out funnel.

Target Audience Ad - Course Landing Page with Lead Magnet (give a way a chapter or a lesson for free in exchange to their email) - Email follow up sequence to an actual Course Sales Page (Long Form for more expensive courses).

- Plus ViewContent/Lead Retargeting on FB
- Multi-day Email Sequences

Check out ThriveLeads, they have a course platform included that is hosted on your Wordpress plus a crazy amount of information in their ThiveLeads academy section for building these kind of funnels.

Are you selling your own course, or promoting the affiliate program of a course?

If the former, @affiliatecase has given solid advice (thank you!)

If the latter: One approach I've used with success in the past, is show visitors a comparison chart with the most popular courses in the same niche. The chart would rate the courses on different aspects/benefits - and of course the course I was promoting would come out on top. (Or: Only include courses that HAVE affiliate programs you can join, in the comparison, so that no matter which one people choose, you still make the commission.) I also linked each course in the comparison chart to a detailed review of the specific course.

Something to try!

Also: A VERY important consideration is how targeted your visitors are. Usually, you'd require something like google adwords where you can laser-target your audience. Or try targeting by interest on FB.

All the best.

if you want to sell online courses, check out the launch formula by jeff walker...

in short, u need to give away value, value,, value, value and then drop the ball and after you drop the ball, you need to dangle another golden goose aka the upsell, which in many courses is an 'inner circle program'
