Hey Everyone,
I'm starting this follow-along thread so I can:
1) Keep myself motivated and disciplined
2) Seek out expert advice from fellow members
3) Hopefully, motivate others as I reach my goals!
I will be posting on this thread every 3-5 days as I test new products and will share the results with you all.
A little background on myself, I graduated from college about a year ago and immediately went into SEO contract work. I primarily do link building, content creation, influencer marketing, and some technical aspects involved in SEO. However, I would now like to create my own niche website but have little to no experience with funnel optimization or paid advertising. I'll spare you any further details as I can ramble forever, so let's hop right into it
So far I have run ads for two products on my site. Both within the same niche. I began by running a very targeted audience until my pixel collected enough data and have now I am able to go broad with my targeting based on specific interests. I have been receiving good CPC and CTR yet these are just vanity metrics as no one is converting. The tactic I use for targeting is as follows:
1 campaign > 10 ad sets > same ad for each adset.
Each adset has a different specific interest and they are all run at $5 a day for 3 days for initial testing. These have both been videos showing the product in use. Both ads were optimized for Content View (I had the most data on this) for two days and then switched to ATC.
Ad 1:
Product Price: $14.99
CPC: $0.36
CTR: 3.94%
Website Content Views: 356
ATC: 1
Purchase: 0
Ad 2:
Product Price: $59.99
CPC: $0.26
CTR: 5.42%
Website Content Views: 345
ATC: 8
Purchase: 3
Ad Spend: $123.69
Revenue: $134.95
Profit per Product: $30
I am currently still running the second product and will be switching to optimizing for "Purchase" as the third purchase came in while I was typing this (LOL)!
Anyway, I think it is fair to say that my product page needs some optimization! People are obviously interested in the product as they are clicking over, but I'm not even getting a 1% conversion rate.
LMK your thoughts and I look forward to this journey. Cheers!
Ahoy Tyler, nice start bro!
Are you able to supply the spend/revenue stats for Ad2 please? (How much do you make from each product sold?)
Also supplying your product page we could help you identify things you can do to boost your CVR rate
Its good to see you're getting people buying and you can definitely still work on your CTR ideally you can get 8-10% as a minimum. Purchase pixel is a great idea, even after 3 purchases its going to start to work its magic.
There is one thing that would keep me from ordering from your store personally, you have multiple product categories in the menu, but most of them are empty. I'd think that there is either some problem with your site or it's not ready yet. Do you plan to list more products soon? If not, it might be a good idea to turn this into a one-product store only.
interesting, thx for sharing. we actually tested that product almost 8 months ago. your stats looked a lot better than ours - i think it was $200 spent and 1 purchase.

When putting a product in cart, the cart page looks very empty. Try to convince people (again) to proceed with checkout. Ofcourse very subtle and not too "loud".
A couple of suggestions:
1)Do some research on the different
And many of them are free! Obviously don't go crazy - too many distractions can have the opposite effect. But trying a few can't hurt.
Examples:
https://beeketing.com/countdown-cart
https://apps.shopify.com/quick-annou...omers-informed (using this instead of what you have now, will enable you to keep that "free shipping" message at the top even when customers are scrolling)
2)Your product copy should list BENEFITS as bullet points, not features.
For example:
-Ultimate Protection - Made in accordance with safety standard xyz to protect your feet from fallen objects, keep sharp objects from piercing the sole, and prevent electricity from entering through the floor/ground.
-Very Lightweight - Keep your feet from getting tired.
-No More Stinky Feet - Keep your feet fresh, dry and cool.
-Ultra-Durable - Will last you for life!
-Look Sleek - Practical doesn't have to mean ugly!
I came up with those off the top of my head - I'm sure you can do better with some thinking and research.
Also - a few sentences on safety statistics may do wonders in terms of instilling a sense of urgency. For example:
"Did you know that last year, more than 89k cases of occupational injuries involved the ankle or foot?"
(I got that from here: https://ohsonline.com/articles/2016/...shoe-fits.aspx . You may be able to find more up-to-date stats - those were actually from year 2013.)
You can use some of this in your ad copy as well!
3)As matuloo has suggested, building a separate site for JUST this product can really increase conversion rate, as the visitor will not be distracted by other links. You're close to making profits, and this may just push it over into the green.
4)FB ads: Your video is awesome! But still, split-test that with static images of the product. The results MAY surprise you.
And yes - testing optimization by conversions is recommended. FB has gotten pretty good at identifying the best audiences for your product. Definitely worth a test. Just have to give FB some time to fine-tune the targeting.
