Typos and Grammar Mistakes on purpose?

So I got a spy tool, scoped out FB and found a bunch of landers that are running right now. I'm re-writing them to practice and get a feel for what each sentence is trying to accomplish. I noticed there are a TON of spelling and grammar mistakes. Is this on purpose? I remember reading somewhere that certain types of advertising will purposefully use typos to "weed out" smart people. I'm new to all this so I'm just wondering.

Most are by mistake, but some are on purpose so FB sees it as "unique" (don't think it's effective)

Great question- I don't have the answer but wanted to add that I've noticed the same thing on native.

I'd probably be inclined to presume it was accidental, but sometimes you see it on super successful campaigns where the affiliate has obviously been split-testing a ton, so it does make one wonder..

I do think the 'weeding out smart person' thing has some logic behind it, and I think I've heard several affiliates mention the same thing. On natives at least though that would only make sense in the ad copy vs the lp though, since you would want to maximize ctr once they get to the lp.

But yeah- fascinating question and something I've noticed too You could always split-test yourself and see. I might try that myself actually lol.

I think most are badly translated (the ads I see), not on purpose. Just affiliates touching foreign ground, don't know the language at all and are not very picky when it comes to translations.
