I'm looking to build up a list of generic keywords across all sectors for NL. Does anyone have any tips on how I could start off doing it

So you are asking for top volume keywords in NL from what I understand?
I think Google Keyword Tool would be a good start.
Generic for what market/ industry?
That's a very broad question.
You could use Google trends for the country segment to see an ultra broad topline keywords searched then drill outward from there.
thanks, i'm looking to ideally get a bulk list that covers say the top 10,000 top searched words in Holland
Purchased lists can be quite shitty, it might be better to build some on your own, based on what niche you want to target.
Have you tried using some of the available tools? Such as:

www.wordstream.com/keywords
keywordspy.com
There are MANY tools that deal with this, have you tried any?
thank you, i know all of these but i'm looking for a top searched list across all verticals. ideally for the NL market to start with but i'm after english speaking markets also. the big list i have is from 2015 so needs updating !!
