Affiliate Interview - My Trip To Russia

Привет стм

Hi,
Probably some of you already have seen one or another affiliate interview from Roman (ZorbasMedia).
Well, now they caught me as well and I traveled to Russia for an interview about me and my affiliate life.

I got asked for it the first time about a year ago but I rejected the offer because usually I prefer to stay out of the spotlight and rather work only for me somewhere in the background.
Few months later I got asked again and thought about it.
Then I thought why not.
I mean how often in life do I get the chance to be invited to a foreign country to talk about affiliate marketing?
I guess I would regret it later when I wouldn't do it.

But I have to say it was a very big challenge for me to do the trip and the interview.
As I said, I usually try to keep in the background so it was a pretty strange feeling for me.
Additionally I am somewhat frightened of flying so that was also not that easy for me.
Nonetheless I thought it's better to face the challenge and don't run away from it and in the end it was the best decision.
I met really wonderful people there, had an amazing time in Russia and already think about going back there.
Unluckily in the interview you can't see the whole day and you can't feel the atmosphere but all I can say is that it were few days I will never forget.

A very big THANK YOU to all the great people who made it all possible.
Was a pleasure to meet you and I hope to see you all again.

One last thing, I was really fucking nervous when we started filming, my English also sounds stranger than I thought and it's also a very weird feeling to see myself on YouTube now but I hope that you enjoy the interview.

And here we go

Another good one! I like what the Zorbas guys are doing with these interviews

So campaigns running for 5 years man, thats something, don't we all love these small autopilot moneymakers?

my English also sounds stranger than I thought and it's also a very weird feeling to see myself on YouTube
Don't worry about this at all, we are all the same when we hear/see ourselves on video for the first time. I also feel very weird when I look at myself in some video interview, but I guess it's more about what we say than how it sounds... And you are perfectly easy to understand, so all fine

Affiliate Interview - My Trip To Russia

Give this man an AWC ticket please. I prefer to sit on the couch too but trust me it’s really worth it, in many ways! Just dodge the affiliate managers with their salespitches (no offense) and you will have a fun time! Already you took a brave first step! See you there?!

Sure, who doesn´t like to make money without working?
But in the end people only see the results and don´t see the hours of coding I needed to setup my system.
Maybe I should write a separate thread sometime about how I got it done.
Could be pretty interesting, with my advertising system I was running more than 100k affiliate programs simultaneously at some times

Yes, I can imagine that it can be very good to go there and meet the people in real but I don´t really like such crowded events that much.
But let´s see what the future has to offer.

That would be awesome for sure. Getting more insights into building automatic solutions is something we would all love to know more about, I'm 100% sure about it!

BTW: 100k programs? I guess you made a typo here ... probably campaigns or something else

Hey had the chance to see the interview last night, love how you don't dream about lambos and you enjoy life that's really commendable. And you keep it real Respect!!

Hi Twinaxe,

Watched it this morning too. Love your easy going mind-set. No fancy stuff, just being honest and happy. Just doing what you think is right in your life.

Also, what I did like was: I am able to make more money, but don't want to work more haha.

Thumbs up, keep on going!

Bobby

Is there even 100.000 affiliate programs out there? I doubt it I guess I don't really understand what you mean with "affiliate programs".

Thanks for your nice words.
In the end I am just pretty down to earth dude who makes his money online for pretty some time already
Unluckily my best or funniest stories from my affiliate life didn't make it into the interview because they are little bit too hard and too borderline for the public
This would really be something to rather talk about with a beer on a conference or so.

No, I don't mean offers.
I mean programs but well, probably not 100k completely different programs.
But it really were unbelievable many programs so I had no real overview and i ran more than 100k across difderent programs.
Wait for my thread for the absolute overkill

I had a similar situation when I was running adult sites, I joined pretty much every adult affiliate program out there, it was a couple 100s and tracking all of them was very hard. Back then, there was a tool designed to do just this, called statsremote. It would login to all programs and pull the stats, so we could see it all in one nice dashboard. That was a real gamechanger for us

Haha, few hundred programs would be easy.
Really man, I don't know the exact numbers but it were many many many thousand programs.
I didn't even care about tracking them, I only took little bit more care of the better ones but the rest i just kept running.
Often I received checks or paypal payments and didn't even know the programs.

Even those few hundreds was a bitch to manage, each of the programs had dozens of paid sites, some more than 100 so in the end I was sending traffic to 1000s of different links And I can relate to the checks problems, the clerk at my bank probably hated me as I regularly showed up with 50 or 100 checks and she had to fill a small form for every single one of them ) And figuring out who actually sent them so my accountant could properly record it ... that was another problem

Finally - we can match a face to the username! Awesome interview twinaxe!

And your English is more than fine!

Looking forward to seeing you at an AWC conference! If you DO go, please grace the STM booth with your presence - would love to meet you in person finally after "chatting" in threads for so long.

Danke für Deinen Mut Sebastian!

Very personal interview, I really liked it.

I could also work less and still have enough to feed my family. But I'm not as relaxed as you... I'm not sure if I'll still be able to earn money with AM in 5, 10 or 20 years, that's why I prefer to work more now and hopefully I'll have to work less when I'm older.

IF I ever go to an AWC I definitely will stop at the STM booth.
But I am not sure about it, as I said I am not the biggest fan of such events

Freut mich daß es dir gefallen hat, wir wollten halt auch mal eine andere Seite zeigen, daß man nicht immer nur versuchen muss wer weiß was zu erreichen.

But I can also understand your concerns, the way I do it is probably not the optimal way for many others.
Sometimes you really need balls of steel to stay relaxed with it.
For some reasons I just can´t do it much different and I am doing AM for 10 years now fulltime and so far I always found ways to keep it running.
Whenever something went down (and it happened several times in all the years basically from one day to the other my whole business went from $xxxxx/month to $0) I came up with new and mostly even better ideas.
And you are right, I also can´t tell if I still will be able to do AM in 5/10/20/whatever years.
But since I was a kid I always had a very profit-oriented mindset and found ways to make money.
So as long as my mindset doesn´t change I am confident that I don´t have to worry too much.
